Bubba better be lights out on ST, because Cooper looked like a good prospect.

Based on what? Size? The guy hardly even played in college.

Probably trying to reclaim some value from the Alex Smith deal.

A proposal for the NFL (I know they are reading this) ...
Eliminate the practice squad, eliminate PUP, eliminate NFI, eliminate IR, keep the active roster limit for games the same and expand the roster from 53 to 70.
53 + 8 is 61, the other 9 are developmental players or specialists ... you can activate whoever you want from the 70 for any game.
The 49ers by my mental count are at 74 total now with the 53, the injured players, and a full practice squad ... so this isn't a homer idea.

Just like we'll live without Ventrone. I'd rather hang onto the guys with potential.

Instead of hanging onto guys that's gonna be labeled a special teams player the rest of their careers.

Bykowski is perfect for the 49ers PS ... he's got a good frame and good feet, needs to do a lot of lifting and learning technique. He's very raw. Glad they got him.
Morris was, it appears, a priority for the 49ers to keep and they did and I'm happy about it ... if a corner goes down I don't know that they don't activate Morris over Wright later in the year.

He played a lot better than Looney. Looney is clearly benefitting from the weakness beyond the starters. Kilgore is the only one that I would be comfortable playing with if a starter was hurt. We lose two offensive linemen this year, the season is over.

I never paid much attention to Cooper. What was he the third or fourth corner at Rutgers?

Not as a blocker. Roman's offense needs blockers at tight end who can catch. They've already go McDonald who is a receiver first and needs to learn to block. They couldn't keep another of those type.
