although I'm happy we don't use it as much anymore... I will say that Kap could've got a first down if not a huge play to a TD, if Boldin had blocked his man... Honey Badger.

I think some are confusing the Pistol formation, and the "read option" play.
Pistol formation is alive and well, seems like almost half of our plays are in that formation. The read option however, they cut down on, but still run it occasionally.

Which is fine. Running it occasionally, as a wrinkle when the defense is on its heels during a sustained drive can be a backbreaker. But using it as a primary offense?

Using it in portions is definetrly fine just like teams still will randomly use the wildcat still, but overuse of it almost killed our season.
