Hell no. Dumb trade IMO
Dumb to think Patriots would even do it. They wouldn't give up Jimmy g for browns number 12 pick. But they'd give him up for bowman, armstead and also give up a second for a third?? Helllllllllll naw.

First of all, I really doubt that the 12th overall pick was ever offered to the Patriots... and it would be DUMB of the Partriots to NOT agree if the 12th pick is being offered...
Then, think about it, if the Browns really wanted Grappy, they woulda moved up from that 12th spot to make the offer even greater just to land Grappy the future of the franchise..

What's all this retarded stuff on webzones front page about Bowman being cut?
I'm not even clicking those articles. Take them off the front page for Christ sakes.

Let me just ask y'all this. What WOULD it take for y'all to trade Bow. Posted this in the Maclin thread. I'd pull the trigger if KC offered a second. I think this is their time to make a run. With a second we could murder next years draft and have a FA/Re-Sign party.

It's all part of Cohn's gimmick of trying to be the first to jump on a bandwagon.
Already this off-season he has cut Bowman, traded Hyde, waived Dontae Johnson, and declared Keith Reaser as the winner of the #2 CB job. All of this after only 3 open, padless practices to the media.
Got Heeeem!
You guys forgot about Aaron Lynch about to be cut because he's too fat. That was one of Grant's observations that became national news.

Not doubting Bow but he and Davis are two different situations. Start with Davis running a 4.52 as a rookie vs 4.77 for Bow. Bowmans gruesome knee injury a few years ago is also far worse than a simple ACL tear and more to come back from and then consider he was only healthy for 18 or so games before he tore his knee up again.
Davis came back from three ACL tears, he wrecked both knees pretty much. Citing their 40 times is pretty much irrelevant. He was able to overcome severe knee injuries and play well, not saying that Bowman will do the same but its certainly not unprecedented.
In anycase, what Cohn has to say doesn't mean a thing to me. He's shown that he is an incompetent hack that doesn't know enough to recognize what he's even looking at.
Cohn might not realize that Bowman might still be rehabbing... he's got THREE MONTHS to get back into form.
There are two kinds of people in the world... those who have had lower-body injuries and those who have not. Bowman is probably still getting strength back in the foot.

No I think he is (or was) a user with just a number that started with 9. It was like 91064 or something. Sadly can't remember.

I'm most concerned about how Bow came back in 15 and quickly became a liability in coverage and now with his current ACL you have to assume he will continue to struggle with the agility required to excel in coverage.
He was the 17th overal lb in coverage last yr before the injury to the Achilles (which was higher than both Seattle LBers, Thomas Davis, Telvin smith ect).
His ACL is fine
Lol. Davis plays the WILL. You're allowed to be more of a thumper as a MLB and we all know Bow is elite at play recognition. Idgaf if he's lost a half or a full step. He's still a legit top 5 MLB in the game. Fine no top 5, top ten? Well see soon 😀
Totally agree

All I said was if he couldn't run with Celek he might get cut. Cohn could be doing exactly what you're saying, no question. Anyway it's actually probably unlikely that's planned anyway since June 1st has passed and I'm pretty sure that would force any dead money into next year.

Ask yourself this. Would another team trade for Bowman? Not saying at silly prices, but would they offer a mid round pick for him? If the answer is yes, why should we cut him?
We aren't short of capspace. We have a very young team in great need of leadership. So why should we cut him?

40 time means chit. Bowman played faster than Davis before their injuries. This is ridiculous. Was Jerry Rice slow because of his 40 time in shorts?
It amazes me that people use 40'times for these types of conversations when we've seen these guys play in the NFL. 40 times are for draft evaluations and even then they shouldn't be taken over game film.

This.
Jarvis Landry ran like a 4.75....one of the better receivers and one of the best kick returners in football.
Football speed is not the same thing as track speed and it amazes me that people continually buy into that. Bowman has ridiculous FBIs which give him an advantage over 99% of LBs out there. Other guys might be faster but he diagnoses and reacts to plays a hell of a lot faster than most of them. That doesnt go away with injury.
He fits the role of mike linebacker well, the quarterback of the defense essentially, a physical thumper that can quickly close in on run plays but most importantly makes sure everyone else is in position which is particularly crucial when you consider how young this defense will be.
Worst case scenario he becomes a 2 down player and still excels in that role. For a team with a crapload of cap space that is still extremely valuable.
