Say what you want about Cohn. He is most certainly a provocateur, and he injects a tone into his articles purposefully to ignite reaction.

But NaVorro Bowman is done. He was pretty much done after the knee injury; this Achilles is the nail in the coffin. Cohn is being factual when he says he's a liability in coverage; he's a huge one.

I love Bowman as a person and a player. If his infield performance was delictated solely by his resolve, he'd be an All Pro again. But it's not. He simply won't be agile to do what he once did. And that is exactly why the Niners drafted Foster and brought in Smith. For insurance if Bowman is a shell of himself.

I pray I'm wrong but Bowman at his best will sadly just be serviceable or below average.

Lol

No but what I said does

I'll add cutting a guy that eats up $11 million and actually costs us more money to cut vs what he gets paid this yr is one of the dumbest things we could do...and foster isn't 100%.

We gain zero by cutting him this yr...zero.

Cohn is a little b***h
If he's just causing drama, why is he allowed in practices?
I would doubt he is done this year, but if he can still play on base downs in 2017 and mentor some of the young pups on defense, this would be a good thing.

I don't think Cohn is completely out of bounds. Bowman has always had great range and quickness, and when you lose just a bit of what made you special, you become a shell of what you were at your peak.

I don't buy all this doom and gloom stuff about Bowman. Thomas Davis of Carolina tore his ACL 3 times, still managed to play at a high level into his 30s. Bowman was playing pretty well last year in spite of the garbage in front of him and that RB's were continually getting to the second level. I think it is too soon to say that Bowman simply can't continue playing at a high level, maybe not where he was at before but still better than most LB's in the NFL. He doesn't have to play at an All Pro level to be valuable to this defense, particularly in his role where you want a veteran guy making the calls and getting the defense all on the same page. They added Foster to play the Will and handle a lot of coverage responsibilities, I feel like if he's fully recovered, Bowman still has a lot left in the tank.

I also think Cohn is absolutely full of crap talking about Bowman getting released off of watching a single no-contact practice where the pads aren't even on. The guy is just looking for some hot take nonsense to keep his social media hits up.

On game day, I would put my money on Bowman getting it done.

he lead the league in tackles and was a all-pro in 2015 after that knee injury and last yr he was top 10 among LBers before the injury (according to PFF) with trash around him, so imo that's not an issue.

I think Crabtree was 26 when he had his Achilles injury? He's seems to be just fine wouldn't you say? Derrick Johnson tore his Achilles in 2014 and was in this 32, he came back the following yr had 116 tackles 4 sacks and 2 ints.

People need to relax on the Bow is done crap. There's plenty of cases around the league proving otherwise

Not doubting Bow but he and Davis are two different situations. Start with Davis running a 4.52 as a rookie vs 4.77 for Bow. Bowmans gruesome knee injury a few years ago is also far worse than a simple ACL tear and more to come back from and then consider he was only healthy for 18 or so games before he tore his knee up again.

If a chimp slings s**t on a wall, I'm not going to get into a logical argument with it.

Cohn gonna Cohn.....I love how he's come to this grand conclusion on a non padded practice. It's embarrassing that a guy with his lack of football knowledge is allowed to have the access he does and write the garbage he writes.
