How does this clown even live in the Bay Area? Please, people, just stop clicking on press democrat articles. This dude is just trolling the fans at this point. Bow is a cornerstone of the franchise and Grant Cohn is scum of the earth.

The fact that rotoworld keeps using him as a reliable source makes me question that site...Evan Silva is the senior football editor for rotoworld and I'm tell ya he hates SF. He's always throwing in subtle jabs about them for no reason. He's alway retweets anything negative about SF etc... it's a goddamn conspiracy lol.

Wow, I may need to stop going to Rotoworld from now on, seriously using Grant Cohn as a serious source, he gets schooled every time he asks a question to anyone in the 49ers organization.
Also called the moron out on Twitter offered my services to understand the salary cap as well, likely won't get a response, just blocked. He's a moron.

Cohn is a provocateur, as is Kawakami. It's one of the oldest tricks in the sports-journalism book. Every city in America has at least one sports writer like Cohn. Their job is to stir the pot and piss people off. This generates heated debate, which in turn generates interest, which generates click-throughs, which generates advertising income. This has been going on since the days of newsprint. When you go and read his article and then post an angry reply, you're just playing right into his hands. I guarentee you that when Cohn and Kawakami write this stuff, they're smiling because they KNOW how people are going to react to their words. And that reaction is exactly what they want and why they get paid.
It's not even necessarily a bad thing, so long as you understand that you're being manipulated. It's the off-season and things are dull. Provocative stories engage the emotions, and where the emotions go, the intellect follows. Everybody gets mad and curses Cohn/Kawakami. Everyone says "I'll never read that &^#$! again! Then we start talking about Bowman and everyone's fired up about football again...
provocateur, noun, [pruh-vok-uh-tur, -too rz; French praw-vaw-ka-tœr]
1. a person who provokes trouble, causes dissension, or the like; agitator.

Totally agree...my issue with it is when other sports sources like rotoworld use it as fact and then people leach on to it (mike Lombardi for one)...When you're a website that uses non-credible sources like grant you have no business being in the fact giving business.
I'd love for the FO to come out an s**t on that comment or some more well respected beat writers to say it's a load of crap.

Yes. The line is crossed when others cite rumour and (made up) opinion as "a source." This is exactly what's wrong with journalism today... not just sports journalism.

The only tine I click on a Cohn or Kawakami link nowadays is by accident. I prefer my journalists to be sensible and to know something about the subject. But as I have often said; neither are journalists.

Yup. I haven't even read the Cohn piece in question. Saw the headline and said "no thanks."
Actually, the first thing I said was "I bet that's a Grant Cohn article."

That statement would be the kiss of death by a past coach

Cohn isn't wrong though.
Say what you want about Cohn. He is most certainly a provocateur, and he injects a tone into his articles purposefully to ignite reaction.
But NaVorro Bowman is done. He was pretty much done after the knee injury; this Achilles is the nail in the coffin. Cohn is being factual when he says he's a liability in coverage; he's a huge one.
I love Bowman as a person and a player. If his infield performance was delictated solely by his resolve, he'd be an All Pro again. But it's not. He simply won't be agile to do what he once did. And that is exactly why the Niners drafted Foster and brought in Smith. For insurance if Bowman is a shell of himself.
I pray I'm wrong but Bowman at his best will sadly just be serviceable or below average.

b******t! Lead the league in tackles after his ACL and was an all-pro...before the Achilles he was the 11th overall LBer in the league. 4th vs the run and 17th in coverage (which was higher than both Seattle LBers and guys like zac brown).
Guys like Thomas Davis have had 3 ACLs and is still kicking ass.
I'm sorry you're wrong...also not one other beat writer stated what Cohn said and in fact some said he's moving around well.
