This team will pass no matter what. Even if they get some good pops from the running game, they will not have the patience to stick with it.

With those WR's and Gonzales, I don't blame them.

I love all this hype that the option play is getting, and how you stop or contain it. I'm willing to bet this problem plays a HUGE chunk on Mike Nolan's plate this week, next thing you know, it's game day and surprise surprise, 49ers run full WCO and busts another Kaep in dat azz!

This.

They come out ready to play against the option, and keep waiting for it, but it never comes. The 49ers run it with the RB and CK passes for 280+ yards a 3+ TD's. I think Harbaugh is going to play it shrewdly on Sunday. Maybe some trick plays.
I've had this feeling in my bones since the beginning of the week that it's gonna come down to being a close one. -I think our defense allows Atlanta to tie it up with a FG (but not take the lead) leaving SF with less than a minute to work with.

Harbaugh is gonna show the NFL how he's totally opposite of that loser John Fox, and pull something similar to the Rams game, and have Kaep use his legs to pick up some major real estate (with Falcons playing out of big nickel prevent), and Akers will have his shining 'hero' moment, and avenge himself to keep the game from going into overtime to punch our ticket to the big dance.

I don't think my heart can take that kind of a game.

RIP me.
The only way we lose is if Kap comes out timid. I can't see this happening in the biggest game of his life. Not after what I witnessed last week.
The defense feels due to bust out with a monster game that we know they are capable of having. I'm talking getting major pressure on Mat Ryan, setting the tone with some huge hits, and getting turnovers. Things could snowball on the Falcons when things start going wrong, and they could end the day with 13 points.

If not for some debateable flags and that meaningless late drive by the Packers, the 49ers defense played great. But I could see them holding the Falcons to even less yards. Every 49ers defender on that field remember how it felt to walk off against the NYG and go home losers. That SUCKS! THAT SUCKS RHINO TURDS! Their skill and talent, combined with their absolutely insane determination are going to carry the day.

No disrespect to the Falcons, but I think our defense will shut them down on Sunday.

the seattle game was huge and he came out like a rookie on his first start. It can happen.

Yes but it makes them one-dimensional. BUT, passing that much and seeing what they tried vs SEA, they are NOT a patient team. We need to make sure we have deep help and force them to dink and dunk downfield. I don't think they have the patience.

Absolutely agree.

There is no doubt that Falcons will get their yards, but they will have to earn it with every single snap. This is why I'm confident in the 49ers winning, because I know Ryan will be forced into VERY tight situations and he's going to throw some picks. It happened to Brees, Rodgers, and even Tom Brady threw 2 INTs against Fangio's schemes.

49ers D = pocket passer killers.

We're going to beat them with Mike Nolan's own defensive scheme!

I don't think it will be a blowout, and I'm more worried that I am not worried :P, but we just seem to match up so well and I think the attitude has been of unfinished business and belief.

Watch the locker room footage from Atl after their game, Fox wipes his head and exhales in relief as the start of the post game speech. They are just relieved, and being relieved doesn't seem the right attitude to me to go into the championship game.

Also on the stats front, with such a weak schedule the Atl Off and Def stats are skewed through matches against poor opposition, something we've not had the luxury of. We are battle hardened and determined and I think that will take us through strongly.

The seattle game wasnt nearly as big as this game, nd the environment is WAY different.

Going againt the 24th ranked defense is different than going against the 2nd ranked defense only to us.
After the way Atlanta collapsed last week in the second half, I am confident in the Niners this week. This team escaped from Seattle with a W, there acting like they won the super bowl, its actually kind of comical. One huge factor is that our defense will be fresh since the T.O.P was so skewed last week.

Niner Nation 34-20.
Given Manningham and Kyle Williams are injured, the 49ers have only one WR. Double team him, and it gets really tough. VD and Walker "BETTER" step it up and make the catches.
