Go, Niners, go!
The biggest thing I like about Kaep is that he can extend the play, find the open the guy, and get the ball there even if he's throwing off balance. Alex would've taken sacks in a lot of same situations last Monday Night.
Seriously, I think we're better with Kaepernick. He'll take his lumps, but his lows will never rival Smith's. He's a perfect fit for what Harbaugh and Roman do. IMO, a conservative Kaepernick is far superior to the average Smith performance.

Smith starts; Saints 21-6

Brees torches the crap out of our defense (who once again slips on its face), Saints D does to Alex what didn't work on Kaep in the Bears game: stuff the box, shut the run/play-action windows down, and put the game into Alex Smith's hands. -Smith fails to keep it a shoot-out, throws picks under pressure, and it turns into Giants game 2.0.

Kaepernick starts; 49ers 24-21

Brees torches the crap out of our defense (who once again slips on its face), Saints D struggles to defend on those long slant & hook routes (as they did against GB & Denver), and while the Saints are forced into nickel coverage, Gore & Hunter break huge gains up the middle. -Kaep makes a few mistakes, but puts the offense on his shoulders, and gets us into field goal range for an Akers redemption kick.

So you basically super imposed what Smith did to the Saints last year onto the Kaep scenario -- unbiased of course

Then you pulled one of the worse game with Singletarian game plan from 2010 for the Smith scenario -- still unbiased of course

Luckily we all can actually watch the actual game this Sunday.

Brilliant! - unbiased of course...(facepalm)...
What you all fail to consider is that Kaep has only had one single start ever. New Orleans at home is a hostile and loud environment. Kaep has no idea about what it means to start in a domed stadium

Add to that the fact that we are only holding onto the #2 seed in the NFC by one half game. The 49ers cannot afford to lose this game, especially since they have to play in New England in three weeks. Harbaugh will play Alex because Alex has experience playing in the Superdome. If Alex does not do well the first half, then Harbaugh will bring in Kaep.

That is the smartest thing to do IMO, and Harbaugh is a very smart coach.

INTERESTING TIDBIT

Quarterbacks facing the Chicago defense were averaging a 57.89 rating coming into Monday.

52.9 – Luck
85.3 – Rodgers
39.2 – Bradford
60.1 – Romo
37.7 – Gabbert
74.8 – Stafford
57.0 – Newton
71.1 – Hasselbeck
42.9 – Schaub

Then Kaepernick puts up a 133.1 rating.

this
Tolzien will start. He will throw for 327 yards 6 TDs and no Ints

We win 36-0 cause Akers misses all the extra points.

Sunday can't get here soon enough. I really want to see another game with CK under center.
We Dat!
