Well if this is so and considering the solid looking Jets D, and perhaps the change-ups the O can do....It will not be easy to win. The Minn game was not a fluke, they are good and they were focused on intensity. It's true the Niners looked and were..what.. apathetic, semi-lifeless, uninterested, but still, the look of that game sent nasty chills through me. Like many have said the Jets game is going to tell a great deal about where the team is.

Smith is going to have to move the ball, get it out faster and a bit deeper. However the run should get going 1st..

That BS Seachicks-GB game is going to be a problem late in the season as far as positioning for the playoffs is concerned IF the Niners get back to playing their class of football..NINERS!

Even if Minnesota is as good as they looked, we can almost be certain that we are not as bad as we looked. One game vs. the previous 20 where we went 16-4 against some pretty stiff competition says otherwise. We will grow, we will adapt, and we will improve.

Also, someone posted earlier about how Fangio's defenses looked in year 2. Bad comparison. In every single situation he either had no talent to begin with (see the Colts) or the teams unloaded talent for cap issues or whatever after year 2 ( see Carolina). Statistics can tell you a story, but if you know nothing about the conditions at the time, you can't really give make a good anaylsis of those stats.

Excellent, well thought out points here. Too many people on here freaking out for no reason. Everyone is questioning whether MInnesota set a "blueprint" on how to beat us!?! We will make adjustments just like you said. People need to settle down.

I think our D is weak against running QBs or QBs who can make plays with their feet. There are a few offenses who can move the ball on us.
even though the defense played well, Mark Sanchez played like horse crap.

Maybe he played like crap because our Defense made him play like crap.

our defense brings out the worst in people usually,, this thread is a great example of hysterics and over reaction after one loss

Every defense in the league is weak against quarterbacks who can make plays with their feet. Making something out of nothing is called "playmaking". Playmaking is a huge part of winning a football game.

Part of it is reputation. Teams are scared to death of our pass rush, so they gameplan around it by going mostly with the dink and dunk. Also, the opposing quarterback tends to rush himself because he fears the reputation of our pass rush almost as much as the pass rush itself.

In other words, "It's good to be the King."

And Minnesota is 2-1 what your point.

That the team has a many issues that it will have to improve on throughout the season. What's yours? That Minnesota is a good team? Because unless they're a top 5 team, I'm going to say you didn't have much of one.

Do you realize that a team is allowed to lose once a while, and still be considered a great team?
