I don't disagree. It is too early to make an absolute judgement on where this team is. We'll only know for sure what kind of team this is once the season has ended. However, it is also really boring to wait until then to evaluate things, so for right now I will base my opinion on what I've seen so far and right now things are looking rather iffy.

I just notice that the pass rush isn't the same. Maybe because Aldon is now a full-time starter, I don't know. Our defense last year was lights out because of the pass rush. Where is that intensity this year??

Everybody please repeat after me.... GreenBay does not have an elite offense....Their passing offense isn't even top 20 and the rushing offense is worse than that...
At least through the first 3 games.

Guys stop panicking.
40-8. 40-8.
Let's see what happens Sunday. What will be very annoying is if we win big, there will be a lot of homerism around here.
So easily swayed by wins and losses. People can't put things into perspective.

Ludicrous...right... coming from a guy who once wished injury upon another player/person. Oh the irony.

Trolls are having a feast in this thread. I also see 1 bad game and both sides of the ball were guilty. Offense for not being more balanced and Def for not being able to cover Min TE/Ponder playing like a Vet. The sky is not falling....yet

The fact is that the 49ers got dominated by Minnesota. Regardless of the win/loss column.

Take a poll of NFL coaches who would trade their defense for the 49er D.

That the team has a many issues that it will have to improve on throughout the season. What's yours? That Minnesota is a good team? Because unless they're a top 5 team, I'm going to say you didn't have much of one.

I agree. Fire Jim too. We never lost a game when Walsh was coach and upsets were unheard of. I miss the dynasty days of 16-0 every year on our way to the Superbowl...
Woah, nobody said he should be fired yet. He deserves time to turn things around.
im pretty sure he was kidding

I think the main problem so far with the defense had been with the Dline. I think we will be fine as the season prgresses, but i would rather see our Dlineman focused on defensive play and getting full rests when needed, instead of bringing them in on gimmicky offensive plays. Last year it was cool, and got the guys fired up, but this year i don't see the point. Just bring in another Olineman.

Defense has been mapped out and the front seven is being neutralized. And Alex Smith will be forced to win 6-8 games this year.

Well if this is so and considering the solid looking Jets D, and perhaps the change-ups the O can do....It will not be easy to win. The Minn game was not a fluke, they are good and they were focused on intensity. It's true the Niners looked and were..what.. apathetic, semi-lifeless, uninterested, but still, the look of that game sent nasty chills through me. Like many have said the Jets game is going to tell a great deal about where the team is.
Smith is going to have to move the ball, get it out faster and a bit deeper. However the run should get going 1st..
That BS Seachicks-GB game is going to be a problem late in the season as far as positioning for the playoffs is concerned IF the Niners get back to playing their class of football..NINERS!
