The situation with Manning is similar to the Randy Moss situation. Both HOF type vet. Been out of football for a year. Baalke ask Moss last year if he wanted to be on the team but Moss said he wasn't ready to be back. Same thing with Manning the wanted to see if Manning can still play after the injury. And really wanted to know if he's in to playing again after a year off.

So the question is -- did they offer him a contract....That's the real indication if they wanted Manning or not.

Seems to me from the quote in the article above that the answer is "no".

Similarly, he implied their interest in signing Manning wasn't piqued after he and Harbaugh saw the future Hall of Famer work out at Duke.

At this point, it doesn't really matter. It's only offseason BS. No one will care once the real games start happening.

Doesn't look like LB NaVorro Bowman will play in Denver. He is hobbling around with what looks like a knee injury.

Unspoken but clear enough that it's Crabtree and then a healthy dose of Moss and Rio as the acknowledged starters... mix in a little of the others.

Not game related but since the training camp thread isn't going anymore...

Harbaugh is a small part owner of Panther Racing. Said he met the team owner back when he was traded to Indy. They invited him to watch and he just kept coming back. Said he had a long streak of going to Indy 500s. Coach spent a good chunk of todays press conference talking about it.

Apparently, the driver JR Hildebrand is a 49ers fan and he was at camp last year. I think they are just using this for 1 race.
