What are you basing this on?

Player-friendly front office? Didn't virtually every key member of your only other group who had sustained success in your franchise's 50 years leave under bad circumstances?
Didn't they all go extended periods of time where they had no relationship with the organization?

No. We traded Russ because after the crooked finger he was useless. Schneider fleeced Denver with Russ and that trade, in and of itself, was a huge reason we won the Super Bowl last year. We usually cut bait early on if the player is making poor decisions
Stop, last year you were only relevant due to the 49ers playing a freshman team defense

before that you weren't s**t, this year will prove it

Sure, they're tough on negotiations when it comes to contracts, but their reputation for providing players with support during and after their careers is excellent. They arguably have the best alumni program in the NFL.
Yes i have also heard that as well. If i am not mistaken after his release Tomsula mentioned something along the Lines of that the 49ers would provide all available resources to help Aldon Smith. Mentioned Also that he cared more about the Person Aldon then the Player Aldon.
I never realized just how short of a stint he had with us. All that talent and he never really got to cash in. He could have been the highest paid edge at some point in his career. Instead he was released and forced to play on 1 year prove it deals.

RIP Aldon

How do you regress when you return 10 starters on offense and 10 starters on defense. The Hawks have the 3rd youngest roster and drafted a stud running back in Price to replace Walker's ass
Guys please let's keep this about Aldon. It was my fault to bring that up originally and I own it but my comment was a what if situation and I wasn't blaming anyone. Some recent stuff posted isn't going to change anything and clearly starting conversations which we're long past.

I'll be clearing up some moving forward but please save me the trouble.
Nevermind.

several players family members have talked about how well the 49ers org treats them, especially relative to other orgs the player has played for. Which i think is awesome, I love that.

Aldon was just a disaster off the field. Justin smith, patrick willis, and dante whitner talked about it on his podcast. they didn't go into details but they all said they tried hard with him and he just wouldn't listen. there's A LOT of stuff about him that hasn't come out, based on the way they were talking. very cryptic.

it's simple, you guys were not only super lucky that you had essentially 0 injuries, every other competitive team was riddled with injuries. there was essentially only one team that had a chance to beat you guys in the playoffs and that was the Rams. You guys won, great for you guys, but pretty much every domino for you guys fell into place. all the top QBs were hurt or all the players around them. your offense is below average on most days - your D and ST are one injury away from not being as dominant etc. it's really easy for your team to regress - injuries or other teams being healthy. Not only did we have an insane amount of injuries, it happened to essentially all of our good players. lol you beat up on a team of rookies and practice squad guys. lmao woohoo. Notice you guys lost when we were healthy?

anyways, this is about Aldon Smith. it's odd you're on here talking about your team. lol no one cares. seasons over, time to move on.

The Niners had similar problems with Haley. Ronnie Lott and other vets often had to control him. His issue wasn't alcohol although I know he liked his drink. He was bipolar but I don't think they knew it back then. It led to his being traded to the Cowboys as you all know because the coaches had enough. I recently heard Carman Policy say that the public never heard about some of the stuff he did. Thankfully he got help before he ended up doing something that would land him in jail or kill him.

The guy has gone off rail. He learned that for him to grow his platform he has to come up with controversial statement.

The 49ers drafted Marcus Lattimore after a devastating knee injury. He never played a game. I read an article a few years later that said the team realized in his rookie year that his knee was never going to be good enough for him to play. But they still kept him on the roster for two more years, just to pay him and to give him access to NFL doctors and rehab.

This is just reckless. And leave it to Cohn to be the first to go write something on it
also good to see Donte is still talking to and relaying all this from such an upstanding individual like CJ Spillman

and Baalke being unable to admit that it was a waste of a draft pick also kept him on the roster
