Last year, the Niners let some proven players go...similar to the days when Walsh decided a guy's best years were already past. Players like Franklin, Spikes and Clements were released and even players that didn't seem to be be good fits going forward, like Lawson and Mays, were moved out. Lo and behold, Ray Mac (and Soap sliding over), Bowman and T Brown came in and flourished. Less expensive and younger, they more than filled the void. Brooks got his chance with Lawson departing and earned himself a big contract. Miller stepped up and basically took away Norris' job. Since Spillman and Tukuafu signed up early, are they the next wave of players that step up and surprise? Culliver? Or will be someone that isn't on the team yet?

Yeah but we don't have anybody like that coming through at wide receiver. We released Braylon Edwards and then we had
Ted Ginn and Kyle Williams. OH BOY! Joe Hastings and Brett Swain. Uhhh that aint good. We better be signing and drafting wideouts
all over the place.

I agree... I really like culliver, but I still think he's a #3.... a #2 in a pinch. I think he'll be good one day, just not now.

yea i agree! he is still pretty raw and still new to the position than most CBs in the league...but riddled with potential talent!

I dont want to say he wont be ready because i thought that bowman needed an extra year to learn last season and we all know how wrong that thought was
