Please show me the link where Bowman is an ALL PRO or what pro bowl he made.???

The OP is right, if you can re sign Larry Grant (who looked as good as Bowman and played well filling in for Willis) you can try him at Bowmans spot and put Bowman on the field in Brooks spot.

Bowman was an OLB in college!!!

You put your best players and playmakers on the field.

You could try it, and if it does not work you move him back to ILB and Larry grant is the back up.

I like the idea, but then again some webzoners where against moving Isaac Sopoaga to NT and Brit Miller to FB.

Nobody has to post what should be common knowledge amongst 49er fans.

Google it yourself.

FACT - We have TWO ALL-PRO ILBs....

Here's a link showing he's an all pro. He didn't get voted to the Probowl (because people didn't know about him yet) but he made All pro.

Soapaga was moved to End because he had trouble playing the NT position so they moved him outside when we got Franklin, but he's really a NT. Now that got him back playing in the right position.

I think Bowman and Willis will be a pro bowl linebacking team for a long time and we shouldn't move him anywhere. And we are going to resign Brooks, he's way undervalued on the board. The guy is a complete stud.

It's good that Bowman has experience in OLB, but he was in a 4-3 scheme in college which is not a true outside backer. I think you want a bigger OLB to set the edge and rush the passer like Brooks. He's too much of a weapon on the inside and he can still rush the passer. The reason why we are so good is that Willis and Bowman take away the entire middle of the field. I liked Larry Grant but the defense changes with him in there. Even though he played well, we were more suspect to big running plays from a fast RB.

Or

Did Bowman make him look good?

Yes, and playing OLB in a 4-3 system is different than playing OLB in a 3-4 system.

His football knowledge is an EPIC FAIL.
Clearly an All-Pro, the Matts had written about it as well IIRC. In any case at Penn State he was a 4-3 OLB, entirely different from what we require of our 3-4 OLBs. His skill set is so versatile, it is of much better use to us in the middle than off the edge. I don't know if the staff would consider keeping Grant around and moving him around a bit if Brooks proved too expensive. The great thing about this staff is that they seem to be able to hone in on our players strengths and put them in the best situation to succeed and maximize said talents.

Zoners need to take a reading lesson, "or" I fail to see the link for the pro bowl. Why? Because there is no pro bowl berth for Bowmann. Get off your high horses and realize that there is a lot of "IFS" in any scenario.

The OP and myself are under the impression that Brooks gets big $$ elsewhere and does not stay with the niners. It also assumes Larry Grant is re signed. Under those assumptions I would hope you would want the BEST players on the field.

Fry me all you want but Bowman in my opinion would be a better OLB than Larry Grant.

No one said he made the Pro Bowl, they said and provided links that say he was an All-Pro, there is a difference
