Can Bowman play OLB

I think he could. He's got good pass rush skills too. But probably more valuable at MLB. Also kindda small for OLB.

I was thinking about Grant as OLB

So take a guy who's all pro and gives us a unique advantage and have him change positions. Brilliant.

I think that he could every once in a while to give the offense a different look but not every down. He lacks the size to be a OLB in a 34 scheme. I like the creativity but we need Brooks back. I would rather let Parys go and resign Brooks and draft another OLB. Parys got a fat contract after that one season and has not earned that money.

There's an old saying...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It applies here. Also...it's not a given we're going to lose Brooks to FA. I'm sure the Niner braintrust realizes he's worth keeping and will do all they can to re-sign him. Ahmad has developed into a very sound OLB...strong against the run, has learned to drop back in coverage and can still get after the QB. As for Bowman, he and Willis now form the best ILB tandem in the NFL...not just my opinion, but one shared by just about every analyst who covers the NFL.

Could he? Yes. Should (will) he? No!

I would rather try to put Grant there.

how about we just re-sign brooks..lock this thread up Mods!

He's an all pro ILB why would you move him.

The OP is right, if you can re sign Larry Grant (who looked as good as Bowman and played well filling in for Willis) you can try him at Bowmans spot and put Bowman on the field in Brooks spot.

Bowman was an OLB in college!!!

You put your best players and playmakers on the field.

You could try it, and if it does not work you move him back to ILB and Larry grant is the back up.

I like the idea, but then again some webzoners where against moving Isaac Sopoaga to NT and Brit Miller to FB.
