i do not recall that. I remember them saying that about elvis! The year of the fumble was also the year that all niner fans were moaning that the niners were winning ugly and not blowing folks out like they did the year before. Kind of reminds me of this year in a way you know. anyway it was clear that craig was at the end of the road, he had a bad year and was old and slow, kind of like how tim mcdonald and ken norton jr ended up but we never rip them do we now

they never cost us a three peat.

But Eddie D and his stupid ass riverboat gambling BS cost the 49er organization the last 10 years of purgatory. As if 5 SB trophy's weren't enough-----"Hey, I think I want to run some riverboat casinos." Say what you will, but what he did was very, very stupid and he's supposed to be smart enough to know better. What he did cost the 49er organization a lot more than Craig's fumble. 5 SB's don't give you a free pass on that BS.

DeBartolo's off the field issues had no effect on the salary cap woes of the late 1990's.

DeBartolo's rampant spending and poor cap management led to the fall of the 49ers. Hiring horrible coaches simply continued the decline.

And after Eddie D pleaded guilty for failure report a felony, and received a $1 million fine and two years of probation, he hasn't owned and NFL team.

Of course, it's common knowledge the 49ers were in cap hell and were going to have to rebuild, but if he would have been more focused on the team, not riverboat gambling---Erickson, Nolan, and Singletary would never have been 49er coaches in the first place. The organization could've been turned around a lot quicker with him in charge and not the York's.

So because of 5 SB's it's perfectly OK that he commits a felony. Yeah right. Sports are NOT more important than the law. If you think so, I suggest you reexamine your priorities. As much as I like watching the 49ers, it's still just a game. And I suppose it was OK for Mike Tyson to commit rape just because he was a heavyweight champion.
even if gire....
f**k both, i rather have hearst.
