Every team says they need to establish the run on us, and then they can't so the just pass and become one dimensional. Same thing will happen to the saints.

For almost the entire season teams averaged less than 75 yards on the ground. The second best team (Raven's I believe) was in the high 90s. We only slipped slightly because we lost Patrick Willis for a few games. Did I mention we only allowed 3 rushing TDs this season? One was a QB sneak, while another was to Lynch who started on our 1 yard line because of a muffed punt.
In other words, calling a run play on the Niners is like taking a QB knee....
9ers rush d has definitely been impressive this year. The whole defense has. I'm not sure the 9ers can count on shutting down the most potent offense in the history of the NFL, however. No one's given them a nickname, but this team shattered the Greatest Show On Turf yardage record. It's a lot of fun to watch.

Dashon Goldson- The defense has been lights out all year, playing good smart football. Harp on take aways, defense has been off the field more this year thanks to offense protecting the ball. Drew brees is like a robot, fundamentals will be key (must tackle). Can only slow them down, you cant stop them.
It was the typical answers we've been hearing. I get the sense that our team is real loose heading into this weekend and feel disrespected. The whole week has been how they're going to score so many points.

I get the feeling the first team to 28 wins this one. Obviously, I'm hopeful that's the Saints, but there's no question the 49ers are playing solid football this year. You don't end up the 2 seed if you suck.

This game reminds me of the of that Bills-Giants Superbowl matchup a little.
