i think you are about to meet a whole new level of 49ers defense and i would not be surprise when your running back or tight end get lifted off the field because the got hit by the pain train

This game will answer the question of which is more important, Offense or defense. Arguably the best D vs. the best O in the NFL right now. Can't wait!

KEYS TO THE GAME

• CONTAIN DARREN SPROLES: To contain Darren Sproles I think the Niners are going to have to play lots of Cover 2. Watching Sproles run that out route against the Lions was nasty. He is just to quick. It's like Brees has his own Wes Welker. Playing Cover 2 allows the Niner D to walk up the CB's to bump the WR's and play the flats where Darren Sproles will be. Maybe Rogers or Williams can jump one of these routes and take it to the house.What do you guys think?
• DISRUPT SAINTS TIMING: Stopping Brees to Sproles and Brees to Graham becomes much easier if you can disrupt their timing. We need someone bumping Graham off the line scrimmage. Maybe we could stand up Aldon Smith to cover him to press and knock him on his ass. We also need Justin S., Issac S., and the rest of the D-line to be grabbing and tackling Sproles on his way out of the backfield. If you see any Saints RB's leaking out of the backfield peel off your gap and just tackle him. Lay on his ass. Don't let him up.

• COVER THE MIDDLE: Guarding Darren's out route opens the Niners up for big plays down the middle. In between the hash marks because we'll have no safety in the middle of the field. This is why Jimmy Graham and the rest of the Saints WR's and TE are having such good games. Playing the Cover 2 and walking Aldon Smith out on Jimmy Graham plays to our strengths. We make the Saint's pass to our Pro Bowl LB core. It will be critical for Willis and Bowman to get there heads on a swizzle, quickly identifying the receiver entering their zone and jumping those routes. They must also get deep in their drops. To take away some of those lanes that Bree's like to throw in.

So imagine us playing a disguised cover 2 where the corner always walks up to the receiver on the Strong side of the ball. At the snap he follows that receiver in man coverage. Aldon Smith is also Aligned to the strong side and drops off into the flat to fill that void left by the corner that would normally stay there in a cover 2. Playing Zone/Man Combination D will let the man defenders like Rogers peel off their man and make plays on the ball as they follow the routes of the WR's that they are responsible for. I think with this combination of things we can stop the run, and pass of the Saint's No Problem.
