Sea twice, Cle, Balt, NY, Pit, Cinci, are not easy teams on D and we beat all but 1.

Bottom line is if you think the key to your victory is keeping Alex in check you are mistaken, it's Brees scoring on our D.

Sea, Cle? You reaching

We beat the Giants too and I said besides Pit and Bal. So you got Cin.

So 3 of 16 difference does still not account for

49ers
65/221 on 3rd = 29.4% (31st)
76/216 on 3rd = 35.2% (11th) allowed on defense

Saints
118/208 on 3rd = 56.7% (1st)
67/202 on 3rd = 33.2% (5th) allowed on defense

No question that, offensively, the Saints were unbelievable on 3rd down and we were terrible, but Cleveland and Seattle were 5th and 7th in points allowed. 7 of our 16 games were against top 10 scoring defenses. You faced 2, 1 at home and the other, Tennessee (8th), held you to 22 points a mere month ago.

They won't, we can bet on that.

Harbaugh said this week Brees is playing at the top of his game and the top of anyone's game who has ever played. Don't you think there is some chance they might be chewing on a 40 burger?

Well once you admit the 3rd down situation it makes the control the clock game plan sooooo much harder.

Yes you will, and promptly kick field goals. Which will not result in a happy ending for 9ers.

Wow, wish the mods would ban you because judging by your username you obviously came to troll and not talk football.

Nope... And what was Harbaugh supposed to say?

just trying to make conversation. It is a playoff game. If you find one post that is trolling I would like to know. Sorry for that triple post it was a mistake.

FYI, this 49ers offense thats tied for 10th in ppg has played 6 of he top 10 defenses in the NFL. SEA is ranked 7th and we played them twice so thats 7 games vs top 10 Defenses.

After all that, we still average 24ppg tied for the 10th best scoring offense.

We WIL move the ball vs the Saints, believe dat.

We dont kick FG vs crappy ass defenses. I guess you missed the part about us playing in 7 games vs top 10 defenses. Those types of teams dont give up TDs easily.

And why you bragging about putting up 40 vs NYG? There D is ranked 25 in ppg. There DL may be solid but their DBs suck ass.

Right...tied with ATL which scored 23 and 16 on the saints. That's not gonna get it done against the saints offense.

You kicked 52 FGs = You kick FGs against all defenses

The Saints only scored 40+ on the Lions because of atrocious tackling and dropping easy picks. There is ZERO chance our D sinks to that level.

I really don't think that SF will be able to consistantly put pressure on brees. Not saying that they wont make a few plays and I could argue that DET has a good as front 4 as anyone in the league. They def have the best 2 D tackles. The saints have the best O- line in the league, 3 pro bowlers. Second drew makes quick decisions and gets the ball out of his hands. Third, they have to respect the saints run game. And last, the saints are excellent at running screens. Go check the stats over the past 5 years. D. Brees is one of the least sacked QB's in the league. The giants wasn't able to get to him. The sack leader J. Allen wasn't able to get to him. J. Abraham wasn't able to get to him. All are very good pass rushers. It's gonna come down to if SF can score touchdowns, not field goals. This offense is rolling right now. I'm not saying they are gonna hang 40+ on SF but SF is goin to have to score in the 30's to win this game. 17-24 is not gonna get it done. I would think differently if it was raining and windy. But right now the forecast is 65, clear, and 5-6 mile/hr wind. Which means weather will not be a factor.

Suh might be the most overrated player in the game. He did nothing against us. Ever hear of Adam Snyder? Probably not. Well, he handled Suh.
Ray McDonald might be the most underrated 3-4 end in the game. Constantly collapsing the pocket, almost as much as J Smith, but one notch below him.

You think people can't run on us because of J Smith and Patrick Willis? Its the ENTIRE front seven. They are the best in the league.
Both middle linebackers are All-Pro's.J Smith is an All-Pro, Soap is as good a run stuffer in the league, and McDonald is just a notch below J Smith.
Nobody knows about our OLB's because it is their first year starting. One of them almost broke the rookie sack record (A Smith) playing part-time, and the other one is another very good player (Brooks).

The Lions have Suh, a rookie and a couple speed rushers. Their linebackers are OK. Comparing their front 7 to ours is like comparing Matt Ryan to Drew Brees, and calling them both "good" quarterbacks. Drew Brees is on another planet from Ryan. Just as our front seven is compared to the Lions; we're on a completely different level.

J Smith and McDonald/Soap are flat out better than Suh and Williams/Fairley. I have NEVER seen a game where J Smith does nothing. Suh did NOTHING against us. And he did nearly nothing against the Saints.
Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks are three levels beyond Bosch and Avril. Smith and Brooks can both stop the run, they can also bull rush AND speed rush; especially Aldon Smith. There is absolutely no comparison to those two pretty good speed rushers.
Then their is Willis and Bowman. All-Pro's. All over the field. Ridiculous athleticism. Both are excellent blitzer's and tacklers. I like Tolloch a lot, but there is just no comparison.

You bring up INDIVIDUAL names like "J. Allen" etc. You can block J. Allen with two guys, Brees can deal with the loss of that extra receiver. The difference is, you need TWO blockers for J. Smith, you need TWO blockers for A. Smith. If you don't block McDonald with two, then he is going to have a good game. Same with Brooks. You have to block EVERYBODY.

I don't know who will win the game. I think it's a toss up. But please don't think you are facing anything remotely resembling the Lions.
