I think this best sums it up for me.

Pretty much,
Seahawks Game: Showed me this year was going to be different

Cowboys Game: Showed me this team could dominate opponents.

Bengals Game: Showed me this team could dig deep.

Eagles Game: Showed me this team had heart and was united

Lions Game: Showed this team had resolve.

Bucs Game: Showed me this team had swagger.

Browns + Skins: Showed me this team could beat the teams good teams should.

Giants Game: Showed me this team had come along way.

Cardinals Game: Showed me there was no let down in this team.

Ravens Game: Showed me this team could play anybody, anywhere.

Rams Game: Showed me we were more than one player.

Cardinals Game: Showed me this team will give it a chance to win, even when things are working against them.

Steelers Game: Showed me this team had goals beyond making playoffs.

Seahawks Game: Showed me this team knows what is front of them

yea but I think I finally hit the nail in the head this time! We beat the Rams and we are TWO wins away from a SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The light went on after the Eagles game and it got very bright after the Lions game.

The Giants, Steelers game solidified my thinking that we could compete with ANYONE!
Here's my game by game account.....and living in South Carolina, I haven't seen every game live only 3 (DET, NYG, PITT, and 4th qtr Dallas)....so I was only going by feel until later this season:

Seattle - two punt return TDs to make that separation at the end of the game was completely unexpected

Dallas - to have a lead and squander it felt like older 49ers, but to be in a game against Dallas to begin with said something.

Cincy - didn't see a play of this game but seeing a low scoring game won in the 4th by SF said a little more to me. Just seeing the score update ticker at the bottom of the screen while the local game was on said a lot.

Philly - listened to first half of game in car (SiriusXM NFL Radio), then went inside. To find out the final score and how it was preserved made me think -Whoa!!

Tampa Bay - this was our first test I thought given the equal records.....then we outright SMASHED them. Granted looking back it seems like it might be expected given how weak they are, but anytime ANY team puts up a 48-3 victory, they have to be PRETTY GOOD!!

Detroit - the resilience and that 4th down and goal throw by Alex Smith.....THROW OF THE YEAR so far. Wow, you can understand why Harbaugh was pumped the way he was.

Washington & Cleveland - slowly tacking on the victories and showing we win games we should and won't have a letdown ala Saints/Rams.

NY Giants - having lived in NYC from late '85 to '10 after arriving from SF (born in '79), I have witnessed MANY a 49ers/Giants battle. To me, I feel this rivalry is up there with any other rivalry we have (Rams, Cowboys, Packers). I was really anticipating this game from the moment I felt we were good and each week it only got more intense. I knew this was going to be the first REAL test and it was a wonderful feeling to come out with a victory. This was the official clinch for me after the buildup.

Cards - Despite FGs in the first half, came out dominating in the 2nd.

Ravens - Despite 9 sacks and an inability to sustain drives, we kept a blowout game to only 10 points. I felt good, but going into this game if we beat the Ravens the way we beat the Giants, I would have said super bowl champions for sure!

Rams - Getting back on track, and those deep TDs got me excited that the offense was picking up.

Cards - Another game I did not watch, and need to watch. Seems like they could have won a lost game.

Pitt - The interceptions and sacks cannot all be put on Ben's ankle.....a lot of it is SF........now we're back!

Seattle - To persevere after a potential let down said lots about SF. We felt better about this game after showing we could ball with Pitt, but anything was possible.

Rams - ??? But I think one way or another Harbaugh gets the win, whether blowout or close game. Hopefully we win this game early and get CK and backups in there.

Each game has meant something this season as you can see. I'm getting NFL Rewind and watching the games I missed!!!

How did the Cowboys game show you we could dominate opponents? our only loss at home showed you that? The Cowboys defense "Ware" turned up the heat in the 4th quarter and shut us down
i'm not gonna lie, i didn't think we'd be this good. our DL & OL (most games) has really stepped up this year.
Giants game. Showed me that our passing game could come alive for an entire game.

We only lost that game because the secondary gave up some big plays at the end.

I disagree. WE lost that game because our offense couldn't do anything to put the game away in the 2nd half.

Besides a few huge plays, we controlled the Dallas game. That was something I wasn't expecting. If anything I was expecting Dallas to set the pace and us struggle to try to keep up, the opposite happened. Just because you don't win in the fashion you might expect as dominate by definition, it doesn't mean that an observer can't take something away from it. After that game, I was ticked we lost, but was pretty sure it wasn't a sign we were about to lose the next 5 straight. I felt pretty darn good about the team's chances going forward. In the end it was a loss but I felt the team gained something from it.You are right, maybe i should rephase. Anyway Happy New Years!
I started to believe after I saw this youtube:

I agree with all of the above; the Eagles game signified A LOT of things. -We were coming off of a rough/uneventful road win against a growing Bengals squad, walking into Philly with all odds against us, never having won a game there in practically a decade (nearly never having won a game period against the eagles in a decade, itself)...

And then we do it... we stage one of the biggest single-season comebacks since probably 1980 against the Saints... and the moment Justin Smith knocked that ball out of Jeremy Maclin's arm... I was in tears... I knew things were gonna change... I knew things were different this time...

Not only this but the week before when we stayed in Youngstown, Ohio (at Eddie's house) we built comraderie and built a "TEAM" No more favorites, no more special treatment to certain players, no more selfishness...the team is fighting for each other!
