first thing that came to my mind after it was announced that it wasnt a earthquake was that they did this on purpose on national tv to highlight the importance of a new stadium

That's insane. If some serious injuries occurred because of this then that may have killed a new area just by the lawsuits themselves.

Not sure how you stage a massive transformer explosion. Not only that, but why put so many people in danger? U never know if the fans get a little unsettled and cause a mass evacuation of the stadium. Especially with the earth quakes and terrorism. To me it seems a little far fetched. The stadiums very very old, and the power needed to run a Monday Night game has to be astronomical.
