Gold Rush fits them perfectly, who cares what the cheerleaders think. Gold Rush fits the 49er's defense better than the cheerleaders who does nothing more than make themselves look pretty and entertain the crowd. If anybody should change names it should be the cheerleaders if that's what they call themselves.

I'm with this. Everything about SF and the history of the city and team is built on the gold rush...history, team name, cheerleaders and pass rush. Why not?
