Always been a big fan of Boone and wanted him in the starting line-up. I was thinking RT, but all the better if he can upgrade the LT spot.

He keeps his arms in tight not allowing the defender to swat or rip, then punches the second they are within his range. Callais Cambell is what like 6'6 and was getting dominated, I dont see too many other defenders with the length to avoid Boone's initial punch and then block. I would really like to see how he does against smaller guys like Harrison (even though hes suspended) to see if he can handle the short squatty passrushers too.
I think Campbell is like 6'8". He had, what two passes knocked down and an almost INT?
Anyhow, did you see the play where they brought a CB blitz and Boone, literally, just caught him and walked with him out of the play; the CB gave up instantly once he hit that wall. He looked about half the size of Boone. But what was impressive was that that CB had a full running start but Boone stoned him easily. When pass rushers (take note VF) get a running start, it's much easier to bull rush or speed right around them en route to the QB.

Good signs that we may have a good or better option at LT. I would have to wait and see how he does against different types of rushers when he gets the chance.
With Boone emerging that's a good thing. It's tough to find a good tackle, easier to find guard in the draft. I just can't explain Chilo.

In this past game if he got a paw on a defender while at LT, the defender was usually stonewalled like CC who had to resort to standing up and trying to swat since he couldnt get a good push. I noticed that too about how big he is... he stands next to Iupati and still looks like a giant haha.

Hey lets just be happy Baalke locked up Boone for 4 more years. I for one saw offensive line improvement last year when Staley went down and Barry Sims came in. I think Staley in a zone favorite, but i think he is a LT because they are paying him LT money. Get over it, put Staley at RT, Boone LT, and work with Anthony Davis for best position. Hopefu7lly RG could work out. Then Snyder is the back up linemen that comes in on heavy packages.

Thank you so much. I came to this exact same conclusion in rewatching every snap of his too. He was probably, even cold coming in off the bench, the only OL who wasn't pushed backwards or beaten often. He did a good job sealing the edge too. To me, he feels contact and then "attacks" rather than immediately starts moving backwards and with contact, gets beat or overpowered back into Alex's pocket/face. He moved DL and blitzers forward! I also liked the fact that he did not just block his guy and stand around...once he had his guy beat and out of the play, he moved to the next level or the other side of the field and continued to block. I'm so effing tired of our OL just standing around if their first contact doesn't work. How many times do you see Alex sacked in under 3 seconds with three defenders laying on top of him while 3 OL are just standing there watching or looking down field. WTF? There is no "attack" mentality on this OL anymore like we had earlier in the season with Davis (Suh) and Iupati. Maybe we need a Kilgore in there too...
Maybe we need an attacking mentality of Boone - Iupati - Goodwin - Kilgore - Davis with Staley as the swing T and Synder as the swing G/T.
I think with a full off-season to install the offense and to evaluate what each of the guys on the current roster can actually do, you very well might see a lineup like this...or Staley moving to RT and Davis moving to the bench, at least for the time being. Not sure Davis has the body type to be a guard, as some are suggesting, but that is just my humble opinion.
I also think that the Niners would not have extended Boone for 4 years if they didn't have the intention of at least letting him compete for a starting gig next season.
Alll of that stated, I do think the Niners will need to add another veteran guard next season and draft an eventual replacement for Goodwin at C. There are some good center prospects in the upcoming draft so I wouldn't be surprised if they pull the trigger on one in the first 3 rounds (unless of course, they think Beeler can be the man in the middle down the road).
Cheers!

whatever they do there needs to be a serious upgrade in our oline. Too much inconsistency and far too many sacks. I like Boone and would like to see Rachal gone, draft pick trade if possible, and I would like to see Kilgore get some time as well. So I would like to see Boone, Iupati, Rookie/FA Center, Davis, Staley/Kilgore.

Kilgore is a G not a T. Keep AD at RT. He hasn't been that bad this year and he will continue to get better. He juts needs a better RG next to him. He can't block for two people all the time. I do agree that Kilgore should get a shot at RG though. Boone-Iupati-Goodwin-Kilgore-AD could be the line we need.

In my opinion, the way Goodwin is playing (awful), the best reshuffle might actually be: Boone-Iupati-Kilgore-Davis-Staley

Based on his recent games... I agree. Looks like he is starting to wear down. I am all for that line up come next year!

Me too! We need someone NASTY at C who can be the QB for the OL and help his QB out on blitz pickups.
The fact that we've been going max-protection and still getting sacked (hits & pressures) under three seconds says a ton about our OL abilities (other blockers too; VD, Gore, Hunter, etc.). Very very poor; it also limits the receiving options and dumbs-down the play-calling and allows the defense to play tight, cover for under three seconds and play down hill b/c Alex has only one option to throw too. Everything starts with the OL. Everything.

Was really hoping he would solidify our line and for a few games it looked like it, but he is stinking it up so much it is making our guards look bad too.

Also, isn't the center supposed to help with the assignments? I see other centers pointing around, etc.
