and better personel. I think we all agree that Ginn should NOT be on the field and you can even argue Braylon shouldbnt be in there until he is 100% bc the jump over the shoulder 1 on 1 is just not working... Crabtree and Davis should be in there, quick throws to Crabs, seam to davis, wham plays on the edge should work.. and that's what worked the most part of the first 10 games..

Speed is negated in the Red Zone, as explained by Matt Millen when reviewing the tape. The angles are different, things happen horizontally. So, having ginn on red zone plays is a head scratcher. I'd take Kyle Williams because he does have quickness Ginn doesn't.
Its all due to a weak OL.

I think the idea that we had a dominant run game early in the season is a fallacy. Remember games 1 and 2 when we tried to run out of normal NFL formations? Our run game sucked. BUT, unlike Singletary, JH and staff knew they had to establish the run, and were willing to do so by any means necessary -- which meant heavy and unconventional formations. We "established the run" for a few games -- not because the OL dominated, but because the OL was given a ton of help.

But defenses adjust. By the NYG game, the NYG defense stacked the box and 49ers attacked with a passing game. But now we are STUCK, and right back to where our offensive talent had us in 2009 and 2010. Defense stop the us with RUN BLITZES. Essentially, they can get so much penetration with any blitz that they blow up the run and the pass.

Until we have the OL and WR that can beat the run blitz defensive scheme we're screwed.

The obvious question might be - why not go back to the heavy formations?? Well, they work well when its new because teams are still defending them with base personnel. After its on tape, defenses create better schemes and their own substitutions to defend them. When they see the offense's substitution, the defense subs its own heavy package.

So what happens, a good coach like JH then runs a trick play, sending a heavy receiver out. Again, that only works a couple of times because the next defense doesn't let that slow guy get a free release again! LOL.

So as you can see, over the course of a season, your offense gets forced to become proficient at a real NFL attack, or it slowly looses its potency -- and you can see the 49ers quandry now. They better improve quickly, or this will be a painful end of season.

By comparison - look at the Broncos and Tebow. Their standard offense was going nowhere at the beginning of the season, so they abandoned it. They got creative and caught several teams off guard (and their defense is playing well like the 49ers). But each week they too are being forced to introduce more creative plays AND Tebow if being forced to improve his passing game to win. By the time they play the Patriots this week - with a high octane offense and a smart defensive minded coach -- the Broncos success with this new Tebow offense may be over. BUT, at least the Broncos offensive line is enabling them to run out of traditional NFL formations -- they are opening holes.
QB does not win games for us:( At least that's what I was hearing all day @ the stadium but was still a blast and was outta control with crowd noise....

PS Much props to the fanbase for making a strong showing in AZ!!!
