The Secondary...

I think that this secondary is one of the least heralded in the league, and hope that the team keeps it intact. I worry that both Rogers and Goldson are on 1 year contracts and having great years (though I am fairly confident Rogers will get resigned soon...call it a gut feeling based on what I've read). I admit I have been higher on Goldson than most for a few years, but he has had a great year to date and really hope he is resigned to a multi-year deal. Whitner is signed and I think he is definitely a top tier SS. That said, if the team is able to resign Rogers and Goldson, the only question would be the other corner. I like what I've seen from Culliver, but is he (or Brown) the long term answer at the other CB slot? I know we give up a lot of yards, but also very few points ( and lay big hits when guys do catch the ball). Basically, you could call the secondary the "weakness" of the defense, but this is a money group that I would like to see stay together for a few years because I think they really could be special in years to come. Where does this group need to improve personnel-wise?

I think first thing is sign Rogers. He is having a career year and has said he wants to stay. He's played better this season alone than Clements has in several seasons here. We need someone solid on the opposite side, whether thats Culliver, brown...I don't know...but someone that can play one-on-one. At the Safety spot.....Goldson would be good but you don't want to throw to much at him. If Braylon ends up playing well or doesn't, we need to go after a huge bodied WR who can be a big target in the endzone. Braylon was suppose to be that guy but we'll see if it pans out the rest of the season. I know he hasn't been healthy.

Wow, I agree with some of above, but I am really impressed with Culliver. I don't think it is even close between Brown( from my Texas Horns) and Culliver. Sure he has been beaten, but who hasn't. Most of the time he is very good in coverage and hits hard. I agree about Rogers, but like Culliver just as well. Goldson I am +/ on which means I am not convinced yet. I would say the same about TBrown. Doesn't mean I would cut either, but am still waiting for season's end to see what brown and Goldson do.

Yeah, I think Rogers will be back for sure, but I am not as confident about Dashaun. If we were to loose Dashaun I would be worried about filling the FS position, although Reggie Smith looked good in the preseason before his injury.
