Yeah...who cares about a significant flaw or failure to produce within our offense? Just tell me it's a win, and I'm cool.

What? Does anything else even matter?

75% of the season is over and we have 10 wins in 12 attempts. Clearly, whatever this team is doing, is sustainable.
10-2 is also pathetic

That's pretty pathetic for 12 games into the season. How are we going to make a run for the playoffs with that kind of passing game. Don't have the same figures from the Saints or the Packers, but it's got to be extremely lopsided in their favor.

...the same way we got ourselves to a 10-2 record? I don't get this sudden obsession about our offense. Scoring 40+ points a game certainly helps, but it's not a requirement to get to the Super Bowl.

Yes clearly. I am concerned about the true strength of our schedule so far.

We have thus far only played three teams that are currently seeded for the playoffs (if they started today). (That's a low number btw...but beyond our control). However, our record against these three teams is 1-2. The only other team we will face that will be seeded are the Steelers, and I'd say that we will be hard pressed to win that game. I hope we win of course, but that game should serve as a good indicator of whether we are truly contenders or not.
Look at it this way...we're 10-2 without a prolific passing game. Alex & Co are proving they can do it, though...look at the Rams game. They made it tough on Gore by putting 8/9 in the box and Alex made them pay with quick releases and downfield passing. Our offense gives defenses plenty to worry about...and our D has been stellar, with ST's not far behind. It takes all 3 phases of the game to have success...and wallah, that's what we're seeing.
This is a new offense being installed on short notice. The WR's have been in and out of the lineup due to injuries, and the O-line has taken a few games to come together. Relax. Through all of this the team has won, and continues to improve each week. The offense continues to open up bit by bit, progressing towards a wide open threatening unit for any defense to prepare for. The sky isn't falling!

Correction...it WOULD be pathetic if we were 2-10 right now

This, Braylon should be used for 3rd conversions and red zone. The rest of the field belongs to Crabtree and Williams

the Packers last year were 3-3 against playoff teams in the regular season.

just sayin'.
You "numbers and stats" guys kill me, I thought stats only mattered to Raiders fans...

The Alex Smith thread is ridiculous and almost unbearable now and now we're going to debate and call the team pathetic because our WR's don't have enough TD's???

WE'RE 10 and 2 for crying out loud!! what more do ya's want? the pressure of 12-0?? Are some of us secretly jealous of the Packers?? what gives?

Shaj I expected better than this out of you.

We are actually 2-2 against teams who are currently seed for the playoffs

We beat Cincy and Detroit and lost to Dallas and Baltimore
