If we selected Rodgers instead of smith, and Rodgers was a bit more successful, i dont think we would have been in postion to have the amazing players we have today

Maybe not because we would have won more games so we would have drafted later.

Not trying to bring up old topic just saying, would we have the same team or different players, would we still have harbaugh ? I think things happen for a reason, it may be that picking smith was the best of all possible worlds even if smith never pans out,
