Agreed but to wax the giants and put 49 points on that defense was impressive. Ny needed this game. We played ny and barely won. Just saying. I know any team can beat another in a given week. The way breeze and rodgers are playing I'd be scared playing either one.

It bothers me that these coaches for as smart as they appear are very blind. Don't use VD much, don't adjust to pressure, don't throw screens, constantly taking Crabtree out of the game especially when he gets on a roll

Vernon is either blocking or being well covered. He is the only proven threat and will be covered as such. Crabtree will start to get more attention if he keeps this streak of good play going which will ease some pressure off Vernon. The problem is a 2 threat pass catching team isn't really a threat if covered correctly. Braylon was supposed to be the other cog but is not healthy and hasn't developed chemistry with Alex. Gore is being kept in to block so he doesn't need to be accounted for on passing plays. We are desperately missing that reliable 3rd option in the passing game. Ginn is shaky, Braylon is hurt, Williams doesn't get the snap (I don't know why), and Walker disappears for whole games.

I would like to see a pro set used with Gore and Hunter and keep the D guessing on whats happening. Both can pass block, both can run inside and out, and both can be dangerous in the passing game. We could even motion one of them out wide with Vernon and see who gets covered by the LB...then exploit the hell out of it.

I really like that idea!!

The problem with NO and GB is they have to put up a lot of points because they get scored on almost just as fast. Both are avg almost 21 points per game scored on them, we are floating at 14. So they constantly need 4 TD's per game to win, and in other high scoring games a lot more TD's to win. GB has had 38 and 34 points put up on them, NO has had 42, 33, and 31 put on them.

Getting in a quick shoot out with them is not the way to beat them, limiting mistakes, getting points but keep looooooong drives going and keeping the ball out of their hands is the key.

Obviously harder said then done but when the weather gets bad they are mediocre to horrible rushing teams, and they will prove to be human.

I know people hate hearing this but the only way to beat GB may be to play them in the snow at GB. A very hard s**tty task but the weather may (just may) even the playing field in our favor.

Lets just hope we make it that far into the playoffs. I hope we fix the pass protection issue we had in the Ravens game because playoff teams will look at that game when they gameplan against us. But I do agree with you, the way to beat GB is run on them and keep the ball away from Rodgers. Easier said than done but they have yet to play a team with a VERY good defense so no one has been able to prove that theory just yet.
I think this game was a wasted game the moment it was schedule. Absolutely no time to really prepare and then take out the most important link to the OL. On top of that, I just don't think Alex Smith is a guy who can "wing it" without studying.

I don't think there is a D in the NFC that is better then the Ravens. Looking at potential playoff opponents we could play, Atl, NO, Dallas, Chicago, NY, and GB. Between Balt and Pitt we will see a harder group compared to any other team.
most important lesson i took from baltimore is that i dont like thursday games, messes with my sunday routine, too tough to get ready for a game when your rushing home from work

Most important lesson is that the offense still can't handle aggressive blitz schemes. We saw this during the pre-season (Saints, Texans) and it looks like they haven't done any adjustments. If the coaches can't fix this problem then the Steelers games will be a loss and so will a playoff game againts the Saints. The OL and Alex looked as lost against the Ravens as they did in preseason against the Saints.

its freaking preseason, no one goes all out game planning in the preseason especially the 1st preseason game, the oline has gotten better as the weeks gone by but when you have a short wk to prepare for a difficult d like the ravens then fly all the way to baltimore and on top of that have the worst olineman on the team play due to injury youre pretty much gonna have a very difficult time

Very true, I guess I just expected them to play better against Baltimore. I'm really looking forward to the Steelers game, it will be a true test since the team will have plenty of time to prepare.

now if the steelers do the same thing to our oline at home then i will be extremley worried, but as long as chila isnt playing im confident
the loss will make the team focus more on pass protection and other blocking schemes to make the offense better ...it's best we learned now, rather than in the first round of the playoffs....we will be a lot tougher to beat from here on out
