Is Spencer under contract after this season? maybe the coaches are done with him and are moving in a younger direction. He is the oldest CB on the team even though he is only 29. Spencer never stays healthy too which is probably a factor in why Brown and not Spencer is keeping that spot warm for Culliver next year. BTW Spencer was never as good as many of you seem to think and Brown is not as bad as many of you seem to think.

Nope. In the NFL you balance skill and money. He's no all pro but he's a starter and cheap. If anyone is replaced it'll be Rodgers. His contract will be to big.
We wont let the best CB walk out of the building
Everything I've heard is that Rogers is already talking to his agent about working on a contract to stay in SF. Apparently he likes the atmosphere and the team. I'm sure we'll have to pay more than what we're paying now, but I don't think it's going to be massive money.
As for Spencer: I'd have to agree that his spot on the depth chart is probably due to his inability to practice enough.
Brown: I'd probably say that he's the most likely starter on defense to be replaced in the offseason, perhaps by someone already on the team. For the time being, I don't think his play has been bad enough to warrant being benched, and certainly not for someone who I haven't seen play at all for most of the season.

I don't think Culliver is ready, and I think this coaching staff just has something against Spencer! I would rather have Spencer in there over any of them, maybe their saving him for playoffs?

You guys crack me up.
The guy is a solid corner. He's not a star, but he's a solid player. Flacco threw for 170 yards and you guys act like Brown allowed 400 yards or something.
Guess what? Recievers get paid to. The rules are scewed toward offense. Offenses are going to get some yards. Fact of life.

Because he is the second best CB on the roster.

Except Dion sanders and eric Davis. We are not going to pay a 7 million a year contract for a year of good play.

I agree with a lot of you on here. I honestly thought Spencer would get his starting spot back. I have been losing faith in Brown since last year. He is not as bad as we think but not as good as some of you think either.
I guess I can't argue because the coaches see or know something we don't. What I can say is that Brown gets safety help roll his side a lot. Goldson always has his back.

A good point was made bout tackling...but then again...it's a joke how little he plays considering how well he's played previously. But I defer to this coaching staff far more than I've been willing for some time. 9 Wins, theres a lot wrong, but a lot right with this team. They'll be better going forward I'm confident.
