Perhaps Jim Harbaugh was looking forward to a potential super bowl matchup and not putting up a great game plan against his brother? Naw, he's too competitive for that but I see a very different game if these teams play each other again.

Edit: as a young team the 9ers need as much prep time as they can get. The Ravens are a more veteran team and had a huge advantage.

He couldn't have seen the 9 sacks coming lol. Even with the 9 sacks we were 2 close plays away from tying the game. If edwards and alex were on the same page on that one deep pass, or if rachal/gore didn't chop block that guy to call ginn's touchdown back... It would have been a lot closer.

Yeah and add on the short week/lack of time to prepare, and the fact that we're still implementing a new system in a lockout year while they've had the same playbook for a few years. Lots of advantages going their way. Veteran squad, and heck their coach has more experience too.

This only proves to me that when a real good defense takes away the run, Alex Smith and the offensive line struggles big time. It's a glaring weakness, and one we're in the playoffs it will be further exposed.

Not good.

This. The better teams can get pressure AND cover tight. Rub routes won't be as visible for Alex and he will need to make more blind throws. Don't know if he can do that.

There's an article that says there was a wide open Delanie Walker on the very first play for an easy TD. Smith misread the coverage and went for a check down. Big surprise.

Think he really needs to work with trying to work the ball a lil deeper down the field more often while it won't cost us a playoff game. Smith and the WR's need as much chemistry time as possible

He needs to see the whole field. He has trouble doing so and pulling the trigger.

Effem Alert!
Adam Snyder was injured, Chilo Rachal came in and, magically, the offensive line reverted back to its awful incarnation that we saw in the beginning of the season.

Whatever Alex did in this game was beside the point.
