I hope Roman and Fangio both tell everyone to f**k off and stay with Harbaugh and the 49ers for the next 10 years

Fangio - been around a long time. If no one was interested then, they won't be anymore interested now. They will look at the Defense he is coaching and look at the Pro Bowl players/potential he inherited.

Roman - Too green. 1st year OC.... maybe in a year or 2.

Seely - Don't get me wrong he's amazing but who hires ST coaches as head coaches?

The ones I would be concerned about would be Jim Tomsula for a DC job & Baalke for a President of Football Ops job.

I agree on Roman and Fangio. To answer your question on Seely, I think with his stellar reputation and experience as an assistant HC some free thinking Owner/GM could take a chance on him. I'd keep my eye on KC if Haley gets canned. Pioli and Seeley were together for three Superbowls with the Pats.

I'm not worried about losing Baalke at this point.

Ravens?
Funny this thread came up. I was just thinking about how teams like the Packers fare. Mike McCarthy, the head coach, calls all the plays, so if they lose an OC no big deal. They can always find a decent DC, but their forte is their offense and that's not going away.

Some guys are going to leave, just the way it is. Besides replacing Fangio, I think Harbaugh would be fine finding solid replacements for the rest of the staff.
not roman or fangio; however, I am afraid that some of our position coaches are gonna get promoted to coordinators for other teams.

The deeper we go into the playoffs, the less likely it is that anybody leaves.

im pretty sure john harbaugh was a ST coach but i could be wrong. i dont think fangio is going anywhere, he woulda became a HC years ago, hes kinda old now. roman is a 1st year OC in the NFL and i think he'll stick around for a while. Harbaugh is a genius anyway so if roman leaves i dont think itll hurt us too much. harbaugh seems like the kind of guy whos ready for anything.
You guys shouldn't even be worried about this for now.

I think it was Fangio, I can't recall exactly, who I read several interviews with as the new regime came in, who really seemed to have no ambition of becoming a HC. I don't think we have to worry about either of'em this next offseason at all, and probaly not for 2 or 3 years. Either we win it all and they love it, are grateful to Harbaugh and the Niners and will want to prove their concepts next year, or we do well but come up short and they want to finish installing their systems to show what they really can do.

They're a crew. They did it at Stanford together and now they've begun to do it in SF with the same system they've arranged. They'll want to perfect what they've got going as a crew before they even consider jumping ship.

If we're fortunate to kick ass like we have been this year for a couple more years,, they should eventually have our blessing as they strike out on their own after giving us what we've waited so long for.

I wouldn't even worry about it for now.
UCLA
Out: Rick Neuheisel, fired Nov. 28 after going 21-28 in four seasons.

Potential candidates: Former Oregon coach Mike Bellotti, Seattle Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable, former NFL coach Herman Edwards, San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, SMU coach June Jones, former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, San Jose State coach Mike MacIntyre, Boise State coach Chris Petersen, Houston coach Kevin Sumlin, New Mexico State coach DeWayne Walker

Why would Fangio want to go to UCLA instead of competing in the playoffs every year with the 49ers?

Based on what UCLA has done in the past 5-10 years I would puke if someone asked me to coach for them.

Harbaugh has made college coaches trendy again, someone is going to hire Mike Leach this off season and in my opinion get a good coach but he's definitely a boom or bust type of coach. I'm not sure if there will ever be as good of a college turned pro coach like JH.

Back to the topic. ESPN has Jim Leavitt listed as possible candidate for the Kansas University opening.
I would be mad if Seely, Vangio, Tomsula, or Rathman go to another team.....everybody else can go.....
1 thing that concerns me is what i heard john clayton say on mike and mike this morning, he said the talent pool for OC's is rather small since quite a number offensive minded head coaches actually call their own plays so those teams OC's arent as highly regarded, roman on the other hand is a play caller and in a rather small pool he could end up being a big fish

i wonder why our OC's are always targeted??? i mean who would have hired McCarthy after having one of the worst offenses in the NFL??? Norv is somewhat understandable...great OC...no success as a HC...and he's about to get fired again.

Why isn't the Packers OC getting recruited? Patriots OC? Saints OC?

Nope, they keep taking the 49ers OC over all these others!!
