That's a total STFU to those talking heads that say our passing offense can't withstand a good defense. Listen you dumbf**ks "analysts", we've already played 3 of the top 10 defenses.
Feels good man.

To consider any team in the NFL a pushover is

statement. Ask the Saints about the Rams.

Imo when they have a chance to try some new things in this offense they go ahead and do it. If you notice in most games so far they do really good and then they do alright. I think were witnessing some new plays being tried out when that happens. I think that cause when it comes down to the wire they usually dont have a problem getting up the feild to get a score. Also every good team has a bad game here and there but the difference is even our bad games are winning ones. Perfect example is detroit. Probably the worst game of the year for us but we still won. If we didnt have that many penalties and missed oppurtinities then imagine the score then. Imho.

The issue of playing down to opponents has been a serious bugaboo of mine throughout the decade of rebuilding. I think it's fair to say that playing down was a nasty habit that plagued past 49ers teams. Not this one, though!
I can certainly see where some fans might be tempted to think we've played down at times, but the coaching staff seems to be somewhat schizophrenic and displays conservative and aggressive streaks in equal measures. On defense, they seem to be content to defend a lead rather than attempt to bury their opponents--something that used to drive me crazy about Walsh and Seifert. Add to that the offense's nagging consistency issues and it's very easy to come to the conclusion that we're playing down a bit once a lead has been established.
But if you think about our old, bad traits (back when we really did play down to other teams) we're not seeing the comatose starts to games, we're seeing significantly fewer mental errors, and this team doesn't seem to "deflate" in the way that previous teams often did when a turning point in the game failed to go their way. Most importantly, while the team has occasionally looked bad on a series or two, they have yet to play a game in that lackadaisical haze that we often witnessed with previous coaching staffs.
As I mentioned earlier, playing down was a major bugaboo for me in the past. But this trait has fallen waaaay down my list of worries this season.

I dont think they played down. The first half they ran the ball well and in the secound the browns adjusted and so did we by trying to throw the ball down feild Alex just missed on those throws. If he hits those two to Crabtree its a diffrent game and no ones talking about this.

It's not like the offense turned into 3 yards and a cloud of dust. The Browns have a good defense, give them a little credit for halftime adjustments.
The offense still took shots down field and still moved the ball, just not with any consistency. When the Browns only had like 70 yards of offense before the Goldson penalty right before halftime, like it or not coaches will get conservative and it was the browns. Against Tampa who has proved to have a somewhat functional offense there was no letting up. Hell if Smith hits crabs a couple times and ICE & Miller got a couple more blocks, the second half would of been just as big of a route as the first.
This team is still developing, much rather beat the browns 20-10 knowing allot of points were left on the field compared to beating them by the same score and thinking the team just played it's best football possible.

Not every game can be an action packed thriller that leaves you with that high high. A wins a win, and when you are working on streaks of 5 and more ill take them any way they come. Detroit and Tampa really quenched my desire for Niners dominance, although not permanently by any means.
