Niners are 6-1 BUT.....

If we had a first round bye and made the playoffs Id be damn happy. I could care less if we made a deep run. The fact that we are relevant and not depressingly bad is huge for me.

Thé Niners don't have to worry about thé Packers till the playoffs. At the rate they are going, that won't be until the NFC championship game. Enjoy the moment, for Pete's sake. This team is winning for the first time in almost a decade. Stop making up problems that don't exist...........yet.

This is good - it keeps Green Bay the team to beat, the target of the league. As long as they are seeb as head and shoulders above us and the rest of the league, then they have the pressure of everything to lose while we have everything to gain

The Packers are good, but they are beatable. The D is weak against the run and they can't run the ball very well. If get a team that can get to the QB with 4 (like the Niners) and can run the ball (like the Niners) they can be defeated.

I guess it depends on what your definition of great is.

To me, "Great" means a team that has set records, established dominance over a period of time like the Ravnes Defense.

We are WAY to early in the process to even sniff at great. But we seem to be making an excellent start.

I totally disagree with this crap. The Niners are absolutely an elite team. They WIN! Against all odds, when things aren't going quite right, on the road, hostile environments, losing in the second half of games and overcoming it... Or, they have an ON day and wax the hell outta a team like the Bucs... Why can't anybody see that this team has the INTANGIBLES that most other teams lack??? One fine example? This team FINISHES!!!

Ok, there's my rant... and I will throw in a cherry on top, get ready for it...

Of all the teams you could say are going to make the playoffs at this point, the Niners are the ONLY TEAM BUILT TO WIN IN s**tTY WEATHER!!!

Our secondary will really have to step it up and study the game film on Rodgers. He throws across his body to all sides of the field at any given moment. They have so many weapons to defend. But he definitely holds onto the ball for a long time. If a defense generates a consistent pass rush, Rodgers can't be Rodgers. I think Aldon Smith will be the key. If Aldon has a monster game, we could win. Our coaches have to leave him on the field, which they most likely will since we'll be playing the nickel package almost the entire game like we did against the Lions.

Good point! Come January there is no telling what the weather will be like. Rain, wind, mud, snow....if we get to a game where weather is a major factor, it would seem like it has to tilt the odds in our favor

Here is all you need to know:

We are good not great. We don't pass the ball well enough right now to sustain a run in the playoffs. We run the ball great but the league is different right now, the playoff teams last year didnt run the ball great just enough. We will win our division and get a 1st round bye but in the end we will lose because we are LAST in converting 3rd downs and we can't win in the playoffs without that.
