Why are we not using Vernon Davis?

Vernon, just isnt that good. Yeah hes got straight line speed, and is a "matchup nightmare" but what about finding the hole between zones? And im not even talking about his golden hands, more like gloves made of solid gold. Kuhklink.

Look at jason whitten you know the balls going to him, the defense knows , the cheerleaders know it, but he gets open. yeah yeah yeah, but alex isnt tony! BS.

Dude thinks hes better than he is. Got all those touchdowns cause he was the only guy alex could throw to.

Its just frustrating that he is never satisfied with just a good little catch for a good little gain, he's always gotta be trying to run through tackles, drag defenders, guy thinks he's superman, but he's not even in the top tier of TE's. Haha Superbowl MVP!

One of these days he's gonna get hurt real bad trying to get get an extra six inches, and guess whos going to suffer? Yeah thats right the whole team. Dude is a dumbs**t. But oh so strong and fast.

Trade him while the gettin' is good. Yeah I know, cold hearted cause hes good in the locker room but football is about getting w's, not about locker rooms. And which TE did we throw to when we needed a w in detroit?

Vernon doesn't struggle with those types of throws. Where he does struggle is the over the shoulder passes. One thing that I've noticed is that he never catches those throws with his hands -- he always uses his arms to cradle the ball.

Great point.
He'll be back. Just a bad game. They still need to give him more looks. When he has a big game, usually the offense scores more.
Just keep spreading the ball, we have too many weapons now to focus on one player, the pass game looks worse on paper because of the sucess of our run game, when we've needed the pass game to come up big for us this season it has, and that's the only thing that matter

Vernon is a heck of a blocker and even with the drops, he seems to always come up big for us when we need him, and you want to trade him...
hes not black enough
VD was under pressure in front of his home crowd and this has not been his year scheme-wise...has had to block a lot! He needs to go back to basics, use the jugs machine and put this past him. He will be important later in the year when teams have to cover Crabtree and Edwards, perhaps with a double for Edwards. Then he will start to get open more and relax.

I don't blame him for the long drop as the defender was right there and VD did not have total body control to make the catch.

Umm... we're getting W's. Dumba*s.
Why does he do that stupid hop jump for a catch ???

He never tries to catch it in stride using his hands. He always has to use his body to catch the ball.

Wow man, serious? Really don't blame him for that drop? It was easy peazy for a pro TE.

I'd have to look again but I thought the defender had a hand in his face...no?

Partially because he isn't a possession receiver and drops passes like this. Two more in this recent Redskins game.

Davis should of made that catch. However, he is still a huge key to our offense considering we run so many two TE sets. No way we create as many matchup problems with Pelle and Walker as compared to Davis and Walker.
