HAHA. Nice Sing way to try and take credit for wanting to draft a guy that you never wanted them to take. Thank God Sing wasn't head coach back then or Willis would probably be a Ram and Carriker would not be a Niner cause he would already be cut.
I didn't think he wanted him I thought it was Scotty Mac that pushed for p willis.

Patrick Willis is inspiring to people on the field and off the field. One of the best decisions Singletary has made for the 49ers during his regime.

"When asked whether he had ever persuaded the team to choose another player, Singletary set the record straight. "No, and to be honest with you, I didn't push for Patrick Willis, either," he said. "I really didn't, and I told Patrick this. I put the film on, I saw him and I thought, 'There's a chance we may draft this guy?' I was disappointed from what I saw the first time I saw him, I really was.' "
Scot McCloughan, he said, made the case for Willis early on, asking Singletary to take another look.
"And I looked at him again and said 'Scot, you really like this guy?' " Singletary said. "He said 'Mike, I'm telling you. I know what you're saying, but this guy is really good now. He's really going to be good.' "
By draft day, the personnel department had taught him more about Willis, Singletary said, and he came around to supporting McCloughan's position."
Why am I not surprised that Singletary saw nothing in the film?

He did nothing. It was McCloughan that wanted him.

Showed some of this again yesterday on ESPN. But I was wondering why they never mentioned anything about his brother's death? I remember hearing the he drowned or something like that.

i agreed it.. If Patrick Willis take a rings and championship then he will be a great story by himself. He would be history a 49ers for him! Go baby!
