Fans only want to hear how great their team is and can't handle the truth. 95% of 49ers fans loved McCloughan, Terry Donahue, loved Singletary, Nolan and Trent Balke all were great right up until they got fired, at which point 95% of the 49ers fans claimed they never liked them and anybody who ever liked them were idiots. At least Cohn isn't a cheerleader for the team and thinks outside of the hive-mind. But most 49ers fans would literally hang him from a tree because he disagrees with you. It's like politics

ok Grant

lol yeah, he's either related to Grant, or is one of his 10 loyal followers who love to wallow in sports negativity.
He does what he's paid to do. Get people pissed off so they argue with him. There are lot's of beat writers that do nothing but praise the team because they won't get access if they don't. Cohn is just the latest in a long line of writers who make a living doing this. His father was the same way. So is Kawakami. Ira Miller. Glenn Dickey. These are some of the most honored writers in SF bay area history but they all had an edge to them. People read them whether they agreed with them or not. Their job was and is to get the fan base fired up. It sells.

10 years ago I might have agreed with you. Now there's ton of guys on YouTube doing reporting, breaking down film, making highlight videos etc and there's really no reason to listen to Cohn on anything.
I get fooled looking at the bylines with SI as the source, and when opened see Kone's name. If there was a poll on the Zone to ban his articles I'm certain it would be a landslide.

It's not a question of breaking down film. Guys like him get paid to sell papers and air time. He obviously is doing that since all these haters who 'don't read him' are obviously doing it or they wouldn't know what crazy thing he was saying. It's like people listening to Rush Limbaugh. He entertains them whether they agree with him or not.

I like TK. I can't stand Cohn. TK does the work, secures interviews, and builds a story. Cohn shows up to pressers with his story already written, then goes fishing for a quote to wrap up the piece. Just lazy. I thought it was telling when he got into a Twitter war with a national guy (Albright?) awhile back, and the guy said something like, "I didn't even know who you were, so I called the 49ers to ask. They laughed and told me not to waste my time, bc you're a joke." The team respects TK, Barber, and other guys who don't kiss their butts, because they do the work. Grant learned from his dad how to get the most pop for the least effort. He doesn't respect his craft, nor the opportunity he was born into.

Well said.
It's easy, just ignore anything from SI. Grant Cohn is a joke. He is still paid, some people just sucks at what they do. So many clueless clowns can write about stuff they have no clue about.
Man, this weasel has more fake Webzone accounts than Kevin Durant does twitter accounts

I made the mistake of watching that video. Horrible. Pretty much not a single thing he said was correct, and time makes it literally look worse. Maybe his caution about Dee Ford's injury history... but whatever.

It's easy to be a skeptic.

goddam he's a moron

What exactly do you disagree with? He's right on some and wrong on some.
But I think he's right that Hurd and Wishnowshy were over-drafted and would have been available with later picks

When you're throwing darts like that, eventually you hit something.

He did predict Bosas sack total correctly. Lol. And he was right about Wish. Other than that I was hearing "wrong" in my head over and over and over
