And if he shaves his head, grows about 6 or so inches, becomes a black man, joins the NBA and averages 40+ points a game for the next 15+ years, he can be the next Jordan.

All the same, just making this thread and comparing the three is only gonna make people hate Alex more than they do already.
Surely, you can get that, eh?

"Niner Greats" are measured in playoff wins and Super Bowls - not stats.
And that's not just an Alex Smith thing either. The same applies for people talking about Frank Gore being the greatest 49er RB too. How he has "put this team on his back and carried us" - carried us to 0 winning seasons, 0 playoff wins (or appearances, for that matter), 0 Super Bowls.

Put Gore on the 80's/90's 49er teams and Craig on the Nolan/Sing 49er teams, and I guarantee you Craig wouldn't have carried those teams to playoff wins or SB's either.

Nice breakdown on the numbers. I support the 49ers and if Alex can grow to have a great career here that vault him to the level of Montana and Young, it would be nirvana. What great pass time conversation we would have over beer. But lets first beat the Lions.

I'd love it he can get there
But, how about some wins, playoff wins, passing titles, and SB victories first, eh.
In the mean time, being Jeff Garcia is good for me -- 3 time pro bowler
I'd love it if Alex can win a SB and Rodgers never won another one. But, who the hell knows how this is all going to play out.
The fact that we are even thinking that Alex can play this well is a milestone in and of itself.
