Just an excellent article, really well written and obviously a lot of knowledge of the situation.

Yeah, I agree. It was just pointing out facts, and saying nothing beyond that.

Its a good read for the national audience who aren't hard core fans like us.

Yep, that's why I thought it was a great article.
Very insightful comment from the Author when it was recognized that if Frank Gore had not performed as well as he did early in his career we would not have drafted Vernon Davis and might have drafted Reggie Bush instead.

But even so, the only players it mentioned were Alex, Gore, Vernon, and Willis. Those are probably the only names the national audience does know of this team, so I don't think it really says much about how the current niners are built.
I'm liking the fact that Alex Smith's image is changing from almost joke of a bust to a repsectable QB in progress.....and he's getting better every week he plays with that offense...imagine when he fully learns it....

False. It also mentions Carlos Rogers, Bowman, Justin Smith and Ray McDonald.

Yeah, it does. I just reread it like 2 seconds ago, my mistake.

much thanks for sharing that!!!
His second season in Palo Alto, he pulled off one of the biggest upset in college football history, beating second-ranked U.S.C. … as 41-point underdogs. If he had 24 hours, could he save the world? John Elway never led the Cardinal to a bowl game. Bill Walsh never had Stanford ranked in the top five. No one had ever led Stanford to a top-five ranking. But in 2010, Harbaugh gave the Cardinal its best season in at least the last 70 years, and set the groundwork for a potentially magical season in 2011.

It is time for another big upset.

the entire undertone of that article is fate, do you believe in it????

What I find interesting is the article didn't mention how the core of this team was built by Mike Nolan. As much as I disliked him as a coach, he did a very good job drafting players. Not only the ones mentioned but also Stayley, Morgan, Goldston, Snyder, McDonald and brought in the best free agent pick up in a long time with Justin Smith. I just thought it was important to add this to the forum.
