Delanie Walker was my thought originally. That way the team could promote Reuland from the practice squad to take his place as a third TE. He knows the system well since he played at Stanford.
Housh is not a good locker room guy... at all.

to answer question #1, yes we can, we'll have 3 wr's, delanie can be put in the slot, theres some flexibility there, we can alos cut the last man on the roster, promote a PS wr and re-sign the guy we cut next week

Walker is good, but not that good... He also fumbles a lot. And on that deep ball yesterday, he got himself all turned around and didn't make the catch that should have gone for 7.

I REALLY think we need to sign Zielger. He was the best of the WRs we cut. In fact, he is a better WR than Ginn (IMHO), but doesn't have Ginns special teams value.

We don't necessarily need a "big bodied receiver" to come in for Morgan. We can get around that because we have two TEs that can run like WRs. We just need another guy that can run good routes, knows the offense, and can catch the ball. That guy is Zielger!

Yea, Dominique is money. But can he stay healthy?

Yeah, I agree. We don't need or want a big name guy like TJ or TO. After the Lions game we should have Edwards and Crabs in the starting lineup (can't wait to see that!). We just need a decent insurance policy in case further injuries are sustained.
If anyone it's almost 100% certain to be Ziegler..

Bringing in someone who has absolutely no knowledge of the offense who Alex has never thrown to would be a silly move. Not something our new staff would make the mistake of doing.

dude its a 1 week band aid solution until we get to the bye week then get braylon back, all i'm saying is there is flexibility, not many teams can have 2 wr's hurt and use a back up te in the slot, or even out wide to help get by for a week
Looks like Walker is gonna be asked to fill in at WR.
The problem with just making walker a wideout is that he loses his valuable role in the scheme as a tight end. He also can't run the routes out there. Part of me question is what do you do when you are in a 2 wide two te set. To me the starters are Crabs, Davis, Walker, and ..... This is the point. Maybe Ginn can get it done out there. But I don't think Williams or Long or anyone else can fill the big bodied reciever role. If you don't think it's important to our offense then why does Mrogan lead our wideouts? Other than crabs and Edwards are hurt. Edwards fits the bill fine. but he's not going to be there this week.

i think its a great idea, peele can play the blocking te role a bit more if needed, and i dont wanna see ginn play so much that hes not back returning kicks and punts

Tight end Delanie Walker says that coaches have discussed with him in the past the possibility of filling in if they're short on WRs.

Whats the player's familiarity with the scheme? No point in picking someone up who can't contribute while getting to know the play book.
How does the player mesh with the current "blue collar" mentality?

T.O. is out, he's still recovering, who knows how similar this scheme is to the ones he's played in... and "blue collar" doesn't exactly define TO, other than in his dedication to his body.

TJ... who knows? Good bet that Jim placed a little call to John to get the 411 on how TJ handled his time in Balt. and why things didn't work out there.

Long or Ziggy will are my best guesses to get signed. Hastings still needs more time to get acclimated to the pro level, Long made some nice plays in preseason... but Ziggy should be the guy. He has a history with Alex, sure hands, great routes, and some familiarity with the offense. Most importantly.. he is Mr. Blue Collar and will be accepted in the locker room because of the previous work he has put in with this team. The chemistry of this team is giving us an advantage and there is no reason to bring in a big name past-their-prime free agent to jeapordize the locker room when it has boughten heart and soul into what Harbs is sellin.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with this. When T.O. was with the Niners, he was an excellent down field blocker and a complete football player. He learned his work ethic from Jerry Rice and continued to work hard on his game throughout his career.

It was never his actual game (other than dropping passes on occasion) that put him on the bad side of coaches. It was his outspokenness, questioning of coaching strategies, and his antics like the Dallas star incident. Sometimes that is OK but in a team game, sometimes, it definitely isn't.

Ultimately, great players demonstrate a level of emotional maturity that also elevates them to another level. Look at guys like Montana, Lott, and R Craig (and in contrast, look at a guy like Haley). Unfortunately, neither T.O. nor R Moss have demonstrated that level of emotional maturity that truly separates the very good from the great.

Would be a nice pick up in fantasy leagues for teams needing a TE, at least for a few weeks.
TO is absolutely POISON everywhere he goes. If he was such a hot commodity why didn't one team go fater him? He's a SCUMBAG and team wrecker.

TJ was always a solid, not great, but solid receiver. I don't know how much he has left in the tank.

Zig can get in and play pretty quickly since he is somewhat familiar with the team.

I really think Delanie would be excellent! Big, fast and completely knows the offense without any learning curve. He could step in on the first play and make a difference. He is a fine teammate and has talent we haven't even got close to yet. Who knows, it might be a blessing in disguise.
I think Delanie will be put in the slot position...
