Back during the 2010 draft, I made the argument here that we should have taken Anthony Davis and Bryan Bulaga. My logic was that you could always turn a tackle into a guard, and by getting two RTs your odds of getting a solid tackle are very high.
If we had done that, Davis would be our LG and Bulaga would be at RT. Instead we will probably see Davis at guard and maybe trying Iupati out at tackle in 2012.
Thoughts?

100% chance Iupati stays at LG for his entire career.
If anything move Davis to RG and have Boone play RT

Iupati has the size and footwork to play tackle. Why do you make that statement? It was talked about during the draft that Iupati may end up playing tackle.
I really could see Davis move to RG...maybe during the bye week?

Frankly, I'm enjoying this season too much to "woulda-coulda-shoulda", I'll save it for the off season.

Or the bye week. Despite a decent 2nd half vs the Eagles, we can't get much worse up front.

We almost did for a second, when staley went down during the game. that would have made us real weak and thin up front.

I'm pretty happy with the picks. The only thing I might have changed is Earl Thomas instead of Davis, but I'm fine with the guys they got.

If we had Earl Thomas, we might actually be able to blitz like an aggressive team.

Davis is young with quick feet. I'd give him a little more time. Iupati is a road grader that can get the tough yards we need plus this is his 2nd year at the position. Let him continue to progress at LG instead of starting over at RT.

leave iupati at lg, but i kinda like the idea of moving davis to rg and playing boone at the rt. snyder is stable at the rg pos but i dont know how old he is so im thinking long term here. I dont want to see this team waste another high round pick so seeing if davis/boone can handle the switch and start is an interesting scenario.

This isnt Madden, you cant just move to another positon on the line and be good at it. Too much footwork to relearn and blocking responsibilities to learn.

Iupati is NOT a Tackle.
And Davis can play RG.
I dont see how it would of been good to draft two RTs in rd 1, seems like it would of been a waste.
