Please rename this thread to "The Alex Smith Apology thread." If I had the time I would love to track the "Alex Smith dump off thread." I bet mine will be bigger than yours....
There is such a clear agenda here, I dont know how anyone assumes these stats aren't bias/subjective.

All stats can be subjective and biased. Depends on the viewer and how much any are weighted...and your bias is just as biased as my bias, only more so from my perspective. Enjoy your dump thread!

No agenda. I set out to be clear for myself on how many drops we have racked up.. and I did so.
I am not asking you to believe in my findings, or even comment on them. I frankly don't care what you choose to do with this information. Some people, I figured, would get something useful out of it. If you did not and insist on believing whatever you choose to, then that's your right.

I get something out of this thread - our receivers need to step up and knock off the drops bull! I do notice VD does seem to give up on bad passes more than most - almost like he is making a point, "if that is the effort you put into making a good pass, here is my effort trying to catch it!". LOL. I'd be more pissed about it, but I have to admit, VD takes some pretty fierce hits and hangs onto the ball more often than not.

First off, oldman, thanks for doing this. It saved me a lot of time. 16 drops in 4 games is not something to be proud of. Looking at Craps drops, good as he is, sometimes, I swear he looks like he is mailing it in. Then he turns arounds and snags two right out of the air I thot were overthrown. How do you figure that kid. Much of the time, drops are from not paying attn. Sometimes, it is from taking a peek. In Craps situation, he is either off or on, either trying or not. I don't get his performance other than I wonder how good he could be if he tried his best/ concentrated at all times. As for the others, 4 drops avg/game is not a good average. How you teach concentration to someone who can't concentrate....now there is a riddle of the universe.

If your stats are accurate, Crabtree is responsible for a third of our "drops". For a guy reknowned for his hands in college and who steadfastly denies he drops passes, he sure drops a friggin' shatload! I get that he has loads of potential, but c'mon, let's get past the potential part and on to the actual performance part. I'm tired of waiting for this guy to arrive!

By good coaching/teaching

.
But I agree with you. It makes no sense. This kid has a good amount of potential, but he only shows it every once in a while. Yeah he has some drops but he makes up for that with great hands next time the ball is thrown. He just needs to put it all together and make those catches. Plus I think him and Smith might be getting more on the same page. He's had 2 decent games in a row, and if it wasn't for those drops, misthrows, and his T.D called back I think we would be as a fan base a lot more excited about him. I'm hoping he has his break out game sometime soon. If not theres always B.E. so not too worried.

Props to these guys for trying, but so often, they just don't do a thorough job. Takes too much time. I don't feel like they should bother if they are not gonna be thorough and accurate about it.

No offense to you but that article is garbage. Ifthe ball is outside thenumbers it is not a drop? These are NFL WRs I expect them to make the catch if they can get two habdsonit or on a slant/in route if it is a little high and in front and they can get a good 1 hand on it.

You're tired of waiting for him to arrive? It's his 3rd year and all of sudden we've got a problem with waiting for somebody to arrive when others have been around a bit longer

We still look good compared to the Rams in this category. =)
