JH's clock management is an improvement over Sing's no doubt, but he still has some things to work on. I'd like to see us become more agressive when the half is winding down (take some shots man!). Currently we do this thing where everyone straggles back to the huddle, and if we get the play off cool, but if not everyone is looking around like "oh well." Also I recall us burning a few timeouts because there were too many men on the field, or we didn't get set up in time and the play clock is about to expire.
But overall, I agree. He's already looking to be a HUGE upgrade over Sing (and Nolan).

I remember a play from 2009 against the Hawks where we called a time out on the first play of the game on defense...

Harbaugh's game management skills are so much better than anything we've seen in a long time, and its not even close. It's so sad its almost funny.

Didn't Sing burn all 3 timeouts in the 1st quarter in one of last year's games? Jesus that was ridiculous.
I believe it was the last time we were 3-1 in 2009 . . . . against Atlanta. We had to burn a couple time outs because we couldn't get our plays called in time and then Singletary called a pep rally time out to yell at the defense.
The worst part was we that got totally jobbed on a fumble on a kick-off return (Delanie I think). They called it a fumble but he was down . . . but we couldn't challenge because we were out of f**king time outs . . .![]()

Yes D walk fumbled, and it was terrible he was hanging the ball out there.
Morgan got injured in that game I think... because sing called a timeout at the end of a meaningless game, trying to get a score. ALSO after that pep rally time out, they scored anyways within like two plays.
Reminiscing about these events puts me in an unhappy place

I'm still confused on that. I thought that since they threw a penalty on the catch, you can't challenge it since it was a penalty

he could have challenged it, but because it wasn't a "marquee game" there weren't as many cameras and getting the replays took too long, and Paraag wasn't able to get a look at it in time.

LOL You all remember that Eagles game back in '08 where Mike Nolan threw a challenge flag over a field goal?

Also he doesnt waste his timeouts! I can remeber a couple of times with Sing that there be a play that was obviously called wrong on the field but we couldn't challenge because he used all the timeouts because of his poor clock management!! You're right it is definitely refreshing!
This for sure

I'm most impressed that the new coaching staff can properly use the headsets.
