I think that even when he gets back it will take him a few games to get up to speed. So, in essence we'll probably won't see what a healthy Edwards will be until late in the season.

Back after the Bye against his old team.
It will take some time for him to get back but I think he already has good rapport with Alex
Crabtree, last week, for the first time, seemed to develop it. He even had a moment where he and Alex were joking going back to the sideline (this was after his drop of the bomb) and even patted Alex on the butt. I can't think of a single time that they shared a moment such as that.
That, my friends, is a good sign. As Baldinger noted, Crabtree had a key block on the final drive on that running play to Hunter. Crabs seems to be buying in.
Edwards already bought in and seemed to have a good relationship with Alex. He came here because of Harbaugh.
Man if Edwards can get healthy with Crabs, Morgan, Ginn, and Williams all providing different things. This Offense could gel in the future and peak at the right time.
I don't want to get too optimistic, but in the words of Bruce Dickinson (SNL Cowbell) "I Like what I'm hearing"

Bye week is the target, if he can start running during the bye he should be damn near ready for the Browns.
I don't expect him to be at 100% until the Giants or Cards game. But that will put us at the last 6 games which we will need a big push.

Why is it taking so long for his injury to heal? I know that he doesn't want to rush it, but they said it was a 3-4 week injury. Which means that he should be back for this weeks game vs the Bucs.

It's tantalizing to think about, isn't it? But seriously, the sky's the limit... the o-line just needs to keep performing well. We see what Alex can do when he actually has some time, and our dual threat at RB is pretty sexy.
