Positive thinking from fans? That is unacceptable... shame on you!

As I recall in the glory days...they were beating us and then we came from behind to steal the game.

Like I said, we ass f**ked them. Albeit last minute, but just ask val! Whether you slip it in last minute or from day 1, ass f**king is ass f**king.

Yeah, but I gotta believe that surprise butt secks is better than a regular ass f**king.
Well this season we start off 1-0 on the road.

I think he is capable of it, we just need to let it fly. No more ground and pound.
Road record is all about coaching, in my opinion. Home field provides a advantage in terms of crowd noise, comfort and momentum. This can be overcome with good coaching. Talent alone rarely leads to consistent winning on the road. Good coaching does. We haven't had even average level coaching since 2003. For me, road record will the best way to gauge whether Harbaugh just looks the part or if he is the part. Here's hoping for the later.

Well from now till we get a new stadium, every game is a road game for us. (if last Sunday is any indication about our fans/state of the stadium, state of the team)

History says otherwise.

Also this Greg Cosell quote :

Q: What did the film show you about what Harbaugh and Greg Roman are trying to do on offense and whether or not it's working?
COSELL: First of all, they have offensive line issues, both in the run game and pass protection. If they can't run the ball it's very difficult for them to play offense. For the most part, Alex Smith is really a notch below the level you really need to be a really good NFL team. He's a little late with everything he does in terms or reading recognition. He's got a bit of windup which further slows his delivery. He can't compensate with his arm strength because he has average arm strength. He's not the kind of quarterback who helps an offensive line that's struggling. So, really what you hope for is they can design some plays, like that touchdown to Delanie Walker, which was a beautifully designed play. It came right after the turnover. It was really wonderfully done. They got Walker on Spencer, the linebacker, and it was really a nice play. But when it's third and nine it's tough to do those kinds of things. So, it's going to be interesting to see how they choose to go offensively because there's not a lot they can do with Alex Smith.

Summary: Alex = game manager

The detroit lions put up a lot of points with Shaun "game manager" hill, I'm not sure why Alex can't do it, or is the playcalling not matching up correctly with his skills ? or is it just a lost cause?
its been real hard seeing the team as mediocre/bad the last 9 years and passing on QB's coming into the league and FA's, while other teams seem to bounce back after a few years.

Hill was better and more aggressive than a game manager... he just couldn't throw it over 30 yards without having a DB close on the ball.
Wow.... I knew this wouldn't be a pretty stat, but I was unaware of what the numbers actually were.

Here is another interesting stat that shouldn't be too surprising:

Since 2003 we are 25-24 (.510) against the NFC West, 22-59 (.272) against everyone else.

This suggests that are recent records of 7-9, 8-8, and 6-10 are inflated by a bad division. We are farther off from being a legitimate playoff team than people think. If the Niners were in any other division in the NFL, we would be a 4-win football team.

WTF happened to this franchise, to lose that many games on the road means the problem is deeper then just coaching. This team needed to make a major overhaul of the roster and front office but as usual York method they just put a band aid on a gunshot wound.

Who were the 4?

Philly in 2003
Denver in 2006
Detroit in 2006
Buffalo in 2008

Holy crap that's awful.

So true, all of our wins are against soft NFC west teams. If we were in the NFC east we would probably be a 2 win team.
dayyyuuumm didnt know it was that bad...............but u gotta remember there was alot of crappy niners team in that span also

Same thing the critics said about the 49ers in the 80's and 90's...........
