By Lowell Cohn: Put this loss on Harbaugh's tab

Matt Barrows made some comment a while ago that he expects Lowell and Harbaugh to have a fistfight at some point, or something like that. This article and another one today said to me that Cohn doesn't like Harbaugh and will find every reason possible to criticize Harbaugh. Lowell, did he piss in your cheerios, or what?

It seems premature to start dumping on Harbaugh after two games. Did anyone expect us to win a Superbowl this year? Cohn in another article rips on Harbaugh for being too conservative. And many have said he is getting outcoached in the second half of games. I agree that he is getting outcoached in the second half right now, but I'm thinking a lot of that has to do with this being his first with the team and the complete offense and defense aren't ready to be used in games yet. Harbaugh has far outcoached his opponents in the first half, and at halftime the opponents have countered his moves. Harbaugh doesn't seem to have anything left to make further adjustments at half time, and then it is really whoever has better players or executes better will dominant. So far, at this point in Harbaugh's tenure, that isn't going to be the 49ers. I think by sometime later in the season we will start to execute better and will start to dominate in the second half as well.

Wasn't this "play not to lose" mentality supposed to be gone with Single?

This team is soooo predictable still. How easy must it be to gameplan against us? How many plays were called where Alex's 1st or 2nd read were deep downfield against, what is supposed to be one of the weakest secondaries in the league? We may not know the answer to this but something tells me that if Harbaugh wanted him to, Alex would have stretched the field more.

Right now it's the same old same old in SF
Right now it's an effect of a shortened season and a new coaching staff. Nobody expected us to suceed from day one, except for lil kiddies who are living in a dreamworld.
A lot of people expected that we won't make many points against the Boys, let alone leading til the last seconds of the regular time.

Some people seem to forget that we are one of the weak franchises whereas the Boys are one of the better. And we played against them, at least in the 1st half, as if this "fact" is turned completely around.

Just one more: NOBODY, absolutely NOBODY thought we will get sth with our pedestrian secondary.

Acc to the outcome, the Boys are the ones who embarrass themselves in this game, not us.

If a so-called Journalist/expert thinks that we still play like in dinglebarry-days, then he is a blind one, a hater, incompetent or knows less about football than even me.

Cohn riles up all the homers by just telling it like it is. Nothing new here...his style may be overly dramatic, but I think he does it because he does actually care. Not all fans are delusional...some prefer the tough love, plain truth assessment of just looking at the facts before making a judgment.

In his defense, I thought he was fair...he talked about some of the things Harbaugh did right, and was complimentary of Harbaugh's preparation of the team for the game. He gave credit where credit was due. But he also gave criticism to what deserved to be criticized.
