I know last year when reggie was on the field in some game action, he didn't do anything impressive at all.

Why so much hate on Goldson?!

Some of you "fans"....geez.

It's always the same s**t...consistent play quite a bit..then he makes one bad play and everybody freaks.

Just ridiculous.

Goldson has been consistently poor, jrg. From what I've seen the "one play" thing is the other way around -- in that he'll make a good play every now and then, but this past year and this pre-season, he has not done a very good job in space and has done an even worse job helping his CB's over the top. When the CB's have taken away the underneath and intermediate routes, I've seen Goldson way behind receivers streaking wide open downfield. We saw this last year too. This is going to be a huge problem if it happens again in the regular season.

We thought Goldson was turning the corner in 2009, but he stunk it up in 2010. We really need a dominant FS back there and I hope we look at the CB, FS, and NT positions in the draft this year. If Edwards re-signs and Crabtree does well, I think that'll happen.

It's very possible that Spillman is the best overall FS on this team (that is healthy) right now. He is a good open-field tackler and average in coverage. There's a reason he started in practice for a while. The kid does have some ability. Williams is an average tackler and poor in coverage. Goldson is a poor tackler, but a heavier hitter, and average-to-poor in coverage.
