Crabtree had one deflected pass off of his hands. Who cares. That ONE play did NOT cost us the game last year. How about Nate getting beat by a couple double moves? How about that overthrow on 4th and 1 to Moran Norris? or the Overthrow to Crabtree to start the 2nd half that was returned for a TD? The one he deflected did not go back for a touchdown.
Crabtree is EASILY the 2nd best WR on the team, even if he is not 100%

Who's not complaining about Clements? We were all on him. Crabtree didn't just deflect one pass. He was off on a couple of routes. He is the 2nd best talented WR on the team. Right now, he is not the 2nd best WR.

Not last year or the year before. He sort of cost us last year with his idiot mistakes and lack of focus. I really hope he doesn't start until he has his s**t together within the offense. No need to hurt the team again.

Quote:Coach Jim Harbaugh and quarterback Alex Smith insisted Tuesday that Crabtree was only involved in ?warm-ups,? and the league agreed.
?We have reviewed it. It took place during a pre-practice period,? league spokesman Greg Aiello said. ?Crabtree has been activated. The case is closed.?
Crabtree?s first official day in a 49ers uniform under Harbaugh?s watch mirrored Monday: He took part in the same quarterback-receiver session before heading off to individual conditioning drills on the neighboring field.
?I?ve got to run routes first before I talk to you,? Crabtree told reporters. ?Once I get on the field, I?ll be the first person to talk to you.?
As for Monday?s field work, Harbaugh said: ?There was absolutely no malice by the team to try to break any rules or steal practice reps for Michael Crabtree. Did he or did he not practice? I can answer that question. He did not practice, and that was obvious. I mean, there was a report he ran 5-yard routes. He didn?t run any routes. He was walking around. He was playing catch. The malice wasn?t on our part. I think the malice was the way it was written.?
Asked if there was any difference between Crabtree?s participation today as opposed to yesterday, Harbaugh replied: ?He wore his uniform today. He was lined up, came out of the huddle in the (morning) walk-through portion of practice.?

Anyone thinking Crabs is ducking camp by having to have surgery is a fool. You don't expose yourself to surgey to get out of doing anything. However, he knew of his problem and how it occurred, so he should have taken precautions to prevent a reoccurance. Usually, a screw is placed across the fracture to compress it and to stop it from expanding.
Here's an explanation from AAOS:
"A stress fracture is an overuse injury. It occurs when muscles become fatigued and are unable to absorb added shock. Eventually, the fatigued muscle transfers the overload of stress to the bone causing a tiny crack called a stress fracture."
Sounds like Crabs was putting a lot of stress on the foot and that when he came to Camp Alex, it was already bothering him. As everyone knows, he spent very little time working out with the guys, so the stress that produces the problem had to have occurred somehwere else. Guess where that was?
