maybe they want him on the PS?
Masoli didn't get much of a chance at QB but I think with the way Oman has run they would have no need for him at RB. Josh McCown kind of eliminates the need for him but I wish they would have left him throw. Fabrizio will probably be back next year as a camp leg. I guess we needed space for another punter. Right now getting Andy rested up is more important than a second kicker.
I wish they would of let Masoli throw a td against the raiders just because he's a local boy.

how many more would have been shot if niners score with less than a minute left

would anyone keep Oman over Dixon ?

I say yes, and I say it could happen....One thing we need to remember is "never say never"..

I say yes to this. That's probably the best spot for him. Mc. Cown will be gone if a big time vet falls off a roster in a "surprise cut" type move.
Considering the Mays thread, shouldn't this go to FA forum?
I liked Masoli. Maybe if he was a little taller they would've kept him around longer?

based on what
When I read this yesterday, I wasn't able to sleep last night. Today, I'm tired and lost faith in our GM because these two could've brought us a championship! Now, they're gone forever.
Actually, I think the bengals are looking at signing them. :)

I wanted to see what Masoli could do, I still feel like he's a talented QB but after the signing of McCown I understand the move

Sweet, we need to sign them ASAP!

That'd make a great Onion article.

"49ers sign QB they just released"
With the regular season quickly closing in and the 49ers in dire need of help at the QB position, it was no surprise to most teams in the NFL today when the 49ers quickly scooped up and signed Jeremiah Masoli moments after releasing him. When asked about the move, 49ers Gm Trent Baalke had this to say "We've been watching the waiver wire like a hawk hoping that a team would release a QB we thought we might be able to work with. When we released Masoli, that wish came true. There he was." Baalke said he was somewhat concerned that the Dolphins may beat them to the punch having a higher waiver claim. When the Dolphins passed, Baalke didn't miss his chance. "You just gotta keep your eyes peeled and stay on top of the goings on in the NFL" Masoli was not available for comment.

That's fresh!
