Good. This game should be cancelled. Too many gangbangers looking to fight and cause problems. A lot of the violence had nothing to do with football. I know, I was almost apart of it and I didn't want anything to do with it, but might have had no choice. This is NOT a Raider fan problem. They didn't bring any violence to SF anymore than SF fans brought. I saw plenty of Niner fans fighting eachother and Raider fans fighthing eachother. The reality is, for a preseason game, the tickets are cheap and all the people who are just there to party and "represent" are there and hardly anyone cares about the game. The worst of both "fans" show up to this game.

Just so people understand why Niner fans and raider fans were fighting with other fans of the same team... Many people have friends of the opposite team and they go to the games together. When a fan from the raiders starts taking it overboard with a Niner fan that came with some raider friends, the raider friends are obviously going to defend their friend over some guy who just happens to like the same team. The same applies to Niner fans who have a friend who is a raider fan and is getting harassed by a Niner fan.

LOL, That was awesome! I missed the first half of the game on Sat!

The only Bay Area fans that know how to get loud are the San Jose Sharks fans -- as I believe HP Pavilion was voted by visiting teams players as the toughest place to play in the entire league because of the crowd.

SF Giants fans do get loud, but it's not quite the same kind of atmosphere as a hockey or football game.

Warriors fans are arguably the loudest/best fans in the NBA as well. I'm not sure why the stick isn't rockin' every week. If there were one bay area team though, I'm pretty sure it would be one of the loudest

I don't think he will, either. Alex Smith has stuck his foot up the raiders' collective asses every time they've played.

Now, he just needs to do that to other teams as well.

LOL they've always been his "redemption game."

In 07 he had a crappy 1st preseason game..then followed it up with a great performance against...the Raiders.

In 06...Smith had a terrible game against the Chiefs (threw for UNDER 100 yards) then followed up with his FIRST 3TD game against...The Raiders.

Last year...0-5...Alex boo'd nearly benched, etc...Alex has clean game. 2 TD, 0 INT. We get our first win. Alex keeps his job against...the Raiders.

Alex met this blonde little hottie...who happened to cheer for...the Raiders.

Alex intimated this off season that one of the teams that was interested in him/vice-a-versa was...the Raiders.

Probably their biggest fan.

In general, I've never seen it happen either. I've never been to a Raider game so I wouldn't know about that. However, yesterday was different than any game I've been to, including previous Niner/Raiders preseason games at The Stick. It was bad on Saturday.

Absolutely. That happens all the time probably all throughout the NFL every week. Saturday I'm sure had some of that, but there was definitely a different element in some cases as well. I've seen it before at preseason games with the Niners/Raiders and to a lesser extent in the regular season, but Saturday was on another level. Like I said before, I have first hand experience that in all cases it wasn't just friends defending friends.

Another aspect that you also might forget is women as well. A lot of times fights start with women and then escalate to the men, or the someone says something to someones lady and it gets out of control. Again, that's typical of any game anywhere, but Saturday was the worst I've seen in terms of fights I would call "normal" and fights that were gang related.

You are dead on. BUT one thing is semi-overlooked here..... The majority of the 49er gameday crowd (Raider game or OTHERWISE) is a bad crowd anyways. So many young, dumb, and drunken fans who are there repping the 49ers because of the Red color. We're turning into Raider fans, people....If we aren't already. We brought this on ourselves. The stereotype of the "Wine and cheese crowd," is dead. Now, we're gun-toting, gangbanging, drunken morons. Great. I'd much rather be classified as an old man who drinks wine and complains when people stand up in front of me at games.

Don't fool yourself into thinking people show up at the games just to wear red. Gang bangers might wear 49ers jerseys on the streets for the color, but those aren't the people going out of their way to attend a game. To think they would spend money on a football game simply because they want to "represent" and wear red - amongst a bunch of other people wearing the same damn color - while having no interest in the actual team is ignorant thinking. Despite how mentally handicapped you might think these gang bangers are, that's simply going overboard. You're letting your hatred for street thugs blind you.

Buying a jersey simply to wear red, absolutely. But showing up to a football game simply to wear red? Come on.

Lighten up... very, very amusing.

...anyways... all the more reason to move to Santa Clara. Maybe every team will stop playing the Raiders... Good news for Raiders fans... no more losing seasons.
This kind of thing is much more common in preseason for two things: (1) Cross-bridge rivalries; (2) Preseason tickets are much more accessible. Not to start class warfare or anything, but you shouldn't expect similar levels of violence during the regular season when people have to pay $110/nosebleed.

The reason the stick doesn't get loud is because we have some weak ass fans. everytime I stand up and get super loud on 3rd down on defense someone behind me will tell me to sit down. I don't listen to them though and I stay loud the whoe game. Evrytime I go to a game I lose my voice.

So you are saying gangbangers can't be fans as well. Of course guys don't just go the game to "represent." But they certainly go to cheer for the Niners and then get involved in something. Street s**t doesn't just go away because you are at a football game. Unless of course you think someone is incapable of being a fan and also being a gangster.

I'll say it again, I saw it first hand that fights occurred due to gang s**t...I was there, it happened right in front of me. I do think the guy you replied to is making a bit more than what it is, but believe me when I say that there was certainly a gang element at the game. And it does happen quite a bit at preseason games.
