Most people would say they're concerned with our offense, but I think that will come in time. Our special teams right now is really the worst of the 3 units. In new orleans, we gave up a TD return and had multiple penalties. Against the raiders, we had a penalty on a nice punt return, andy lee bobbled a hold, we had a punt blocked and we gave up a long KR to the raiders. what is happening here? we have a lot of returning players on special teams and i just can't believe we are playing so poorly. say what you will about the nolan/singletary age, but we always had a pretty good special teams in regards to penalties and kick coverage. hopefully time will correct these mistakes but it is very concerning. i don't want to have a decent offense, really good defense and then have special teams f**k us over. look at the chargers last year: #1 offense, #1 defense and a poor special teams cost them a playoff spot.

Yes, I believe this is usually the case. When the final roster is defined the level of players on special teams will be much higher. A lot of starters/second string will be on at least one special team, as opposed to marginal players trying to make an impression.

The only bad play was the punt return for TD against N.O. The botched chip shot was a fluke...Jennings/Lee are money at snapping/holding and the blocked punt was with Akers instead of Lee. We got the best LS/H/PK combo in the game. As for coverage units, won't matter once it's core special teamers holding them down and not the Phillip Davis' of the world.

As long as we have Tedd Ginn returning punts, we'll be okay on special teams. He hasn't lost a punt yet, much less costing us entire games in crucial moments. I sincerely hope that we don't put a rookie back there like Kyle Williams to return punts (like some of you fools are advocating), or we'll truly have something to worry about ie. muffed punts that have plagued our team ever since Allen Rossum was cut.
