No, I think that was Kevin or Keith (some K name) Smith, who was locked up 1 on 1 against Butler end gave up the deep fade on the go-ahead TD. That said, Crab and VD both dropped game-winning TDs from Smith on the next series.

Tramaine Brock has a legitimate shot at being a contributor for our starting defensive unit this season. Sam Lam wrote a very interesting piece regarding Brock and the strides he has made toward impressing both the coaching staff and his teammates. I found the last line of the article interesting.

" So far, he has stepped right up into a major role for the 49ers' first team defensive unit. "

I love it when UDFA go on to become success stories. Hopefully this kid is one of them. Go Niners.

He is a good athlete (unlike Mays), has some speed and by the end of this year he should be fighting Spencer for playing time. Maybe sooner if Spencer keeps lying around the training room all day.

What's with Spencer? does he have a pulled groin muscle or what?
